Five days to the wedding, Hauwa fell down the small flight of entrance stairs and grazed her elbow on the interlocked floor. The graze wasn't so bad but it made Mahmud wince.

She played it cool. "I'll be fine, I promise. It's going to heal quickly since it's not that bad."

Mahmud biting down on his lower lip while staring at the graze told her and everyone else that until every trace of the injury disappeared, his mind wasn't going to be at rest. Thankfully, he didn't push or suffocate her personal space just to ensure she didn't do anything until the graze healed.

Four days to the wedding, the tents was erected in the compound and it was crazy how the main tent and the smaller one (which was to serve as the photo area/entrance into the bigger tent) fit into the compound and still left more than enough space for cars to pack. That evening, Mahmud, Amal, Bashir and Hauwa slipped into the tent and told the hired security to keep everyone out. Aleem pouted and whined more than anyone else.

"What is there that they don't want us to see?" He asked one of the bulky men. "It's not like they're trying to gather money for themselves or anything. They've seen everything in every other wedding so why don't they want us to see?"

Hanan was preoccupied with her kids and that was the only thing stopping her from doing her best to slip into the tent. Only Kaycee knew that Mahmud, Amal, Bashir and Hauwa were practicing the routines which would be Mahmud and Hauwa's first dance. Until they were lawful for each other, Amal was Mahmud's partner and Bashir was Hauwa's.

Three days to the wedding, the tent's interior decoration commenced. Mahmud and Hauwa revealed that same day that there was a seating chart for every invited guest and it was safe to say the group chat was crazy that night.

Jafar: You guys are pulling out surprises each day koh? You people are putting us on our toes. Seating arrangement? Are we even going to know who our table members would be like a day to the wedding?

Hauwa: Nope, you all are going to know your table members after the Nikkah.

Aleem: Hauwa, stop this mana. Haba. You're giving us heart attacks with all these surprises. First, you denied us access into the tent and we've been hearing the nice songs and now you're saying there's a seating chart. Idan bana son mutanen da nake zaune dasu fa?

Mahmud: You'll love them, Aleem. If you don't, I'll personally make it up to you.

Zayd: Okay, this is making me curious. Mahmud assuring Aleem is a whole different ball game.

Mahmud: It's nothing special.

Jonathan: Tah! Commot dere! Nothing special keh? It's very special. You're even promising to make it up to him. I'll look forward to this.

Asiyah: As long as I'm on the same table with my husband, I don't care.

Bashir: Wahala for who is not married o. You guys always come to oppress people.

Hauwa: Not every husband is going to sit with their wife though....

Busola: You say wetin?

Summayya: Ehn?!

Hanan: Come, all this surprises that are coming from every corner, I don't like it o.

Amal: So I may not sit with Hanan and Zayd? Is that what you're trying to say?

Mahmud: Yes, that's exactly what she's trying to say.

Asiyah: You have got to be kidding me.

Mas'ood: Dan Allah you guys should have mercy.
