The next day, a few of the others saw them off to the airport. You were not one of those people. You were still to frustrated with Pietro's response- and even Wanda and Visions. You really were trying to understand, but you couldn't help but think of your own kids being put into the situation, which made it hurt more.

Luckily, it seemed that Lucy really enjoyed having another baby girl in the house, even if the said baby girl couldn't really play with her as she was to young. And of course, Lucy was rather young herself, just learning to crawl.

When the others got back, you had lunch ready and then frowned when you realized that Loki was not here.

"Thor, where's Loki?" You asked quietly so as not to bring any attention to the fact he was missing.

"Ah, he's probably upstairs." Thor said, looking troubled.

"Is he alright?" You asked.

Thor just shrugged, "Don't worry, he will be fine. But I don't think he'll want you seeing him today."

That surprised you and you sat there during lunch, watching the others eat.

Why wouldn't Loki want to see you? Had you done something?

You closed your eyes. You didn't want to overreact to something like you had before. That wouldn't be smart.

You pushed back from the table with a small, 'excuse me' and walked out of the room calmly.

You felt like you were doing something you weren't supposed to be as you walked up the stairs to the first hallway. Your heart was beating faster and faster, jumping at the slightest noise as though someone was actually going to care if you were going to Loki's room.

Finally, your nerves got the best of you. You backtracked down a different hallway, checking in all four of the babies who were all sleeping in the nursery. You made sure that they were all doing okay, covering some of them back up with their blankets, before you stepped outside of the room again.

Collecting your nerves and breath, you walked back up the hallway.

"Hey." Sam said and you nearly jumped out of your skin.

"H-hey Sam." You said, blushing furiously.

"Steve and I are going out to walk Buster and Ginny, do you want to come?" He asked, looking at you with concerned eyes.

You tried to get your pounding heart under control. "Another time. I'm kind've tired and I was going to go lay down for a nap."

"Okay." Sam said, pulling you into a hug, kissing your cheek, "If you need anything, give us a call."

"I will." You said softly, giving him a genuine smile. You leaned in, kissing him on the lips sweetly, before you turned and walked away.

"See you when we get back." Sam called and you smiled over your shoulder as he jogged down the stairs.

You let out a sigh of relief, which of course, felt stupid because you weren't really doing anything wrong.

You made it to Loki's room and knocked. You listened carefully, but there was no answer.

"Loki?" You called softly, opening up the bedroom door.

You stepped into the bedroom, closing the door behind you with a soft click.

Most of the lights were off as you navigated through his bedroom and you found yourself feeling slightly worried.

Was he not here?

You moved quickly through his room. He was not in his bedroom, nor was he in a little room off to the side that served as a library.

As you headed back to the main room, you heard a low groan through the door that was closed at the end.
