Falling too much

Nine

We sit on the edge of the bed, I pull Leah into a hug. I knew why she was upset, but I did still have Chelsea to go too, but I wanted to be around alessia and family as my mam made me realise family was so important, but Leah was family. I say "I'm sorry, but I can't play for arsenal, my contracts gone"
"I know I'm just going to miss your face every morning"
"I'll miss yours as well, but there is one possibility"
"What is it"
"I could join Chelsea"
"Don't do that for me, choose your own choice"
"Leah, I will miss you. And if this is the way I could be closer to you then I will"
"But what about alessia and your dad"
"Family's important but your family too"
She pulls me in tighter and kisses my cheek. "I love you but please don't do this for me, I want you to be happy"
"I'm doing it for us and it's a new challenge, Leah"
"Okay then you better call Jonas"
"I will in the morning".
We lie in the bed and we go to sleep early as we have a game against Ireland . The next morning I wake up, Leah's still in my arms, I see her face and she's still sleeping. I check my phone and read the time it was 6am. I get a message of Lucy it said
Hey, come to my room when you wake up x
I was wondering what she needed, I gently move Leah and stand up. I change into some shorts and a training top, I walk along the corridor to her room, the floorboards slightly creaking, I get to her room. Room 240. I knock on the door, after a couple of seconds Lucy opens it. She invites me, I sit on the edge of the bed I ask "where's Keira"
"Oh that doesn't matter, she's just gone out for a while"
"Okay" I was confused what was Keira doing out at 6 in the morning.
"I need to talk to you about something, I know it's early but I need advice"
"Okay, what is it Luce"
"I want to ask Keira if she wanted to have a child with me"
"Aww Luce that's amazing"
"But, I want to carry it. I'm what in my thirties now I've had a career and might do a season when I'm back from pregnancy, but she still has time for a career and I don't want that to get in her way"
"Have you talked to Keira"
"No, I don't know how to start it"
"Just tell her, you've been together for so long now, come on Luce. You can tell her"
"I-" before she could finish Keira walks in and looks at me with a confused look.
"What you doing here, Leah annoyed you already" she jokes.
"No Lucy needed my advice, she needs to ask you something" I say, I hope I helped Lucy by saying that.
"I want a child Keira" she says shyly.
"What are you saying Lucy" she asks
"Do you want a child with me, but I want to carry it"
"Of course I do" Keira says and jumps on the bed and kisses Lucy.
"Ill go, Leah will be wondering where I am. If she's woken up" I say, I leave the room and walk back down the corridor. I get to our room and realised the door was locked. "Shit"
I don't want to wake Leah up. I sit at the door and go on my phone, after an hour Beth walks past and says "what you doing, Leah kicked you out"
"No I'm locked out"
"I'll sit with you"
Beth sits on the opposite side of the corridor resting her back on the wall. We were talking for an hour before Leah opens the door. I jump up and kiss her. She asks "what were you doing"
"Lucy needed me and I forgot the room key so I've been locked out"
She laughs, Beth stands up and walks down the corridor. I walk back in and change into the training kit as we have a training session for an hour before the game this afternoon. I walk out of the bathroom and say "Lucy and Keira are having a baby"
She looks up from her phone and smiles, she says "is that where you were"
"Yeah, Lucy didn't know how to tell Keira so I helped her"
"Aww that's going to be so good, Keira always talked about having a baby"
"So did Lucy"
"They are literally so perfect for each other"
"I know right"
I quickly kiss Leah and we walk down the corridor to the dining room, I get some fruit for my breakfast and a cup of coffee. I sit at the table with Leah, Beth, Lucy and Keira. Beth mocks "so what you love birds being doing them" staring directly at me and Leah.
"Nothing after you walked off we just got ready"
"How come you've already seen Beth this morning" Lucy asks
"When I went out of your room I went back to mine and realised I forgot the key, so I was locked out. Beth came by and sat with me until Leah woke up"
Lucy and Keira just laugh. "Of course you do something like that" Keira says
Sarina shouts "everyone get ready for training and be back here in 45 minutes"
We all walk up to our rooms, I change into my training kit so does Leah. I get a message of my dad.
Just got to London with your auntie Helen and your cousins, see you soon darling xx
I don't message back as we need to go down to see Sarina. We walk down and take a seat, Sarina announces the starting line up. I was a sub, it didn't surprise me too much. We go to the pitch and train for an hour, we make our ways back to our room and get changed into the England travel kit. After an hour we get on the bus, it drives us to Wembley. I had visited Wembley but never played  there before considering I played for Barcelona so there was no need to play at an English stadium. I walk out and take in the surroundings, no fans had entered just yet. I message my dad and say
Okay, what seats are you in xx
He replies
Not too sure, Helen has the tickets not me. Make sure to wave at us though if you see us xx
I reply
Will do xx
We walk into the changing rooms, we get changed into the England white kit. The fans start to enter the stadium. We walk out to warm up and I see katie McCabe . I recognised her from the arsenal team. We warm up and before walking back down the tunnel I look around the stadium and see my dad and family, I give a quick wave and my cousins jump up and down. We walk down the tunnel and listen to sarinas inspirational speech. The subs walk out to the bench. Shortly afterwards the Ireland and England girls walk out. We sing the national anthem and the first half starts off strong. Alessia Russo shoots and makes it 1-0, however the Ireland girls fight back making it 1-1. Just before the end of half time Sarina says "Alesha get ready your coming on" the time was 36 minutes and I got subbed on for Rachel Daly at 38 minutes.
Beth mead passes me the ball and I flick it into the goal, I score making it 2-1. The half time whistle blows and I wave up to my dad again. After the half time break we walk back onto the pitch. At 79 minutes alessia scores again making it 3-1. Beth goes down in the penalty box. It's a penalty for England. As I walk to stand next to Beth outside the penalty box. Sarina shouts "alesha you do it" I follow her commands and step up to the spot. I block the sound out and it's silent. I stare at the spot and I get my head into the zone. I run slowly towards the spot and kick it, it goes in as the goalkeeper dives the wrong way, 4-1 for England. The full time whistle blows.
I make my way to my dads seat, he was front row so I walk over. I say hi to daisy and lily, they want a photo so I get in. My dad says "you did brilliantly out there honey" "thanks dad"
"I missed you" my auntie says. "I missed you too" I hug her. Leah walks over and hugs me. I say "Helen, dad this is Leah my girlfriend"
"Nice to meet you Leah, I've heard many nice things about you" my auntie says.
"Nice to meet you too" my cousins shout "Leah can we have an autograph please"
"Of course what are your names" she says
"I'm lily and this is daisy" they say
Leah signs their tops and takes a photo with them. I crouch down to get to their height as lily is 8 and daisy is 6, I give them a hug and say "I'll see you soon" I hug them and me and Leah walk off to see the other fans. We sign some shirts and take a couple photos. We walk into the changing rooms and we get ready. Sarina tells us she's proud of us and we did well. We make our way back to the bus which takes us to St George's Park, however this was our last night. We get to our room I phone Jonas and say I want to join Chelsea. He tells me he will phone Emma Hayes and let her know. It felt good to play for my country today. I smile at Leah and she smiles back "I love you" I say.
"I love you too"
My heart beats faster and we lie in the bed together. She holds her arms out waiting for me to hug with her. I rest my head on her chest and her arms wrap around my body, she scratches my back with her nails. I fall asleep almost immediately.
