I get in my car, I send a quick message to Leah
Hey, I'm off to Chelsea training ground now see you when I'm back x
I put my phone away and turn on the engine, before driving I sit and think for a second. I drive and I arrive there at 9:20, 10 minutes early. I get my bag off the passenger seat and get out of my car. I look around and then close my car door, I walk into the Chelsea entrance and see 2 familiar faces, Lauren James and Millie Bright. I hug them and they say congratulations. They show me around and it was now 11. We arrive at Emma's meeting I sit with Niamh and Millie. Before Emma's in the room, Niamh says "didn't know you were joining but it's a good surprise"
"Thanks Niamh it feels good"
Emma walks in and gives me a massive smile. I felt included and happy here. Emma starts of her speech by saying "please can we all welcome our new player Alesha Russo from arsenal, anyway we need to discuss the upcoming game against arsenal in the continental cup, we need to win this to get through to the next round. The starting line up will be the same except from Lauren James will be starting and Alesha will be taking Fran Kirby's place on the bench now she's injured. We have no idea what has happened to fran other than she needs surgery and won't be fit until next season, in Millie's injury she will be fit in 4 weeks, also since it's January the transfer window is open and Erikson and harder are leaving and therefore the captaincy spot is up for grabs I will be looking out for the potential new captain" we all shout team on the count of 3 and leave to get changed. I walk to Emma and she hands me the training kit, I walk into the changing rooms and see my name above a locker next to Sam Kerr and Guro Reiten. I go over and take the kit out of the packaging. Sam says "I didn't see you play for arsenal did they kick you out or something" the one question I didn't need at the moment. "No they just terminated my contract I don't know the reasons why" I needed to be honest even though the answer was brutal.
I get ready for training and we walk out, I walk with Millie and say "is sam usually mean or is she really nice"
"She's nice to me why has she said something" Millie asks
"She just said actually it doesn't matter" I say
"Remember I'm always here to talk" she says before she runs over to the other group of defenders.
I walk with Lauren over to the group of forwards, Sam death stared me as I walked over. What was her problem? Had I done something? Said something? I stand with Lauren and the James our coach made his way towards our group. He told us we needed to warm up, so we did. Then we had to get into pairs me and Lauren paired together we had to pass the ball to each other before trying to tackle the other person getting the ball off them. We did this for an hour before we played a mini match. I was in Millie's team we won 2-1 against Sam's team I scored 1 goal and Lauren scored the other. We went inside after training and we got ourselves ready to leave. Before leaving I went to Emma's office and we signed a contract and announced I was joining. I drove back to mine and saw my dads car parked outside Leah's house a smile grew on my face. Although me and my dad might not of had the closest relationship when I was younger he was still my dad.
I step out of my car and get my training stuff and walk inside. I walk into the kitchen and put my training stuff in the washing machine before walking into the living room I saw Beth and my dad talking, I sit down and say "hey" my dad comes over and gives me a hug "I missed you sweets"
"Missed you too dad"
"How did your day go" Beth asks as my dad sits back down.
"It went quite well actually, where's Leah?"
"She's gone to Milton Keynes her grandma isn't in a good condition"
"Is she okay? Why didn't Leah tell me?"
"She didn't want you to worry since you needed to go to training but Leah's okay she told me to tell you, you need to call her tonight she wants to know everything about your day"
"Okay I'll call her soon"
"So you and Leah are youse serious" my dad asks
"I mean we are dating so yeah I would say so"
"I'm happy for you sweets, anyway tell us about your day"
"We had a meeting, I really like Emma's techniques she knows what she's talking about. I can't wait to beat arsenal at the weekend. We did a bit of training and a mini match which I scored in and then i signed my contract to make me an official Chelsea player and then came home"
"That's good but you won't beat us" Beth chuckles.
"We will have to see" I say
"Better beat arsenal can't have Tottenham depressed because arsenal won" my dads a massive spurs fan.
"Oh your a spurs supporter like Leah's dad" Beth says. I didn't know Leah's dad supported spurs.
"Yes spurs is my life when I heard my baby was joining arsenal I was practically screwed over at that point" he laughed.
We continue to talk for a bit longer before I go up to my room I phone Leah "hey le is everything okay"
"For now yes, my grandmas just in hospital they think she had a heart attack but she's laughing and joking so I should be home soon"
"I hope she gets better soon"
"Me too, anyway how was your day"
"Good we just did training nothing special"
"Can't wait to whip your butt on Saturday"
"You wish le"
"I do wish and I know we will succeed especially with half of your team injured"
"2 people Millie and Fran and now they have me replacing Fran"
"I'm scared to face you, you were scary at Barca"
"So were you" I chuckle
"I miss you, I can't wait to come and see you and meet your dad again"
"I'm sure you will have a lovely debate about football considering he's a spurs fan"
"No way so is my dad, when arsenal v Tottenham is in I can't sit in the same room as him" she laughs
"I know what you mean"
We talk for a bit longer before Leah has to go. I go back downstairs and see Beth and my dad talking about football. I sit next to my dad and he wraps his arms around me hugging me. I rest my head on his shoulder and say "Beth if your trying to tell him arsenals better it will never work only Alessia has ever got him to say Manchester United is better and that was a push"
Beth laughs. I walk into the kitchen and put my training kit in the dryer. "Beth are you at training tomorrow" I shout to the living room. "Yeah why" she shouts back. "Just wondering that's all" I reply. "Are you at training sweets" my dad shouts. "Yeah only for the morning though i should be back for 11" I say.
I get some cereal and walk into the living room my dad smiles at me and says "I'm proud of you" I rarely ever heard him say that so when he does I hold onto it for a long time. I sit down and Beth puts an episode of friends on. I get a message of Leah it says
Hey will be back tomorrow around 11 do I have training tomorrow x
I reply
Yeah you do, Beth says it starts at 3 x
It's weird we have different training sessions but it's also good we get space from each other. Beth had her ACL so wouldn't be playing for a while and therefore she had more time to tell me how she had faith in the girls winning against us. I head up to bed and at 10:30 I hear a knock on my door "come in" it was my dad. He sits on the end of my bed and says "good luck tomorrow sweets, I'm leaving on Thursday and I'm flying to America to live there for a couple of months" I sit up in my bed and say "does less know"
"Yes I saw her before I came here"
"I'm going to miss you I'm sorry we don't get to spend much time together with me at training"
"Don't worry, your career is so much more important than me. I'll be back for the next England camp and I will make sure to tag along to a couple of the games"
"I love you dad" I never told him that, we always struggled being around each other but I had to tell him. I knew he would be back soon but that meant nothing, anything can happen to anyone at any time.
"Love you too sweets have a good night" he kisses my forehead before leaving. He closes my door and I put my phone on the side and drift of too sleep. I wake up too my alarm at 7 I drag myself out of bed and walk downstairs to get my kit out of the dryer I change into it and make my way back downstairs, I eat a banana before heading into the bathroom and brushing my teeth. I scrape my hair into a high ponytail. I open instagram and see a post from arsenal saying "due to unfortunate circumstances we have had to terminate Alesha Russos contract, nothing to do with her or her as a player just we have for certain reasons. We hope you have a good future at Chelsea we wish you the best"
I give a slight smile it definitely helped with people's assumptions about the full situation. It slowly approached 8 and I left for training I arrived there at 8:20, 5 minutes early. I get out of my car and head straight to the changing rooms Guro hadn't arrived yet but Sam had.
I make my way to my locker and sit down. Sam sits down next to me and says "I'm the new captain"
"Congratulations" what else would I say?
"That's means you listen to me and me only"
"Okay" I'm taken aback by her attitude, that's not how you act as captain. You are still respectful to your teammates. I put my boots on and Sam walks over to Jess carter and Millie Bright. From the look on Millie's face she didn't look too impressed. We walk out to the pitch and we have James coaching us again. Before we train Emma pulls us into a huddle she says "I have made Sam captain until Millie is back from injury, train today so you have the day off tomorrow and then we are back in on Thursday at 7pm for night training and then the day off on Friday and the game on Saturday"
I was glad to hear Millie would be the captain once she's back but it meant I still had to put up with 4 weeks of Sam being captain, something I did not want to put up with. We train and then play a mini match Sam's  team beat us 1-0.
