CHAPTER EIGHT
The Past Is GoneThe world takes and takes, or at least, and sometimes, it just plays the same old tricks on you. The world claimed that Steve Rogers was dead, they didn't think he'd be in a casket of ice.
Alyssa on the other hand was claimed to be alive, which she wasn't sure how to feel about. They described her as being a hero, a survivor, but they didn't realise all of the guilt that had built up inside of her.
She was just a forgotten name in a book about history. Like many women in society, her value was underappreciated, but she'd still fight like hell.
Alyssa truly lived up to her call sign: Legend. In the years to come, she'd be recognised as a war hero even more.
Peggy had told her about a project or agency that they were still working on for a title, but something along the lines of: S.H.I.E.L.D. It apparently would stand for The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, or something similar, Alyssa couldn't recall everything Peggy had told her. Alyssa found out that Peggy had signed her as an associate or agent for S.H.I.E.L.D., which wasn't completely consulted with her, but she knew there was no fighting with Peggy on it.
Alyssa was sitting in her flat all alone, waiting for the day she'd find a way to make peace in the cruel world. A not very comfortable bed sheet wrapped around her to try to block out some of the cold air starting to wisp through the windows.
Alyssa drank the tea from the cup, shivering ever so slightly in case someone came pounding on the door in need of her assistance, which probably wouldn't happen, but you could never be too careful. She threw the sheet to the side of her, becoming overwhelmed with heat, that also wasn't fun.
Alyssa heard a knock on her door, sure enough. When she opened it, she saw a woman with dark brown hair, nearly black hair, who handed her a folder with the printed words in red: TOP SECRET.
"Here you go, Legend, Not really a secret if they stamp that on there, is it?" The woman joked.
"Thank you..."
"Agent Lina Warson." Lina introduced shortly, then walked away with a smile.
And the world became strange once again, but Alyssa had the sneaky suspicion that this was only the start of madness. She could never prepare for the future, but she could sure as hell read a file. When she did, it read the names of people who she needed to keep an eye on, some were listed for protection, others were listed as enemies.
Alyssa knew this wasn't an easy job, but if Peggy Carter believed she could do it, she'd try. Maybe she'd fail, maybe she wouldn't, but how could she know that this was a part of the future. How would she have known that all of this could lead to something much bigger than the world they knew.
I know it's a very short story compared to some of my other ones, but it does lead into more
I am also aware of how short this chapter is, and I know it's shit
Okay, bye!
