Chapter 5

“We’re baaaack!"

David announces.

He looks at Freen for a minute, judging.

He honestly hated the fact that Freen is into Playboy, it gives him a sense that Freen could be forcing Becky to do things that are beyond David’s imagination.

Freen keeps her head low, that incident with the magazine makes her wants to shrink.

“Daddy!!”

David and Freen look where the sound came from.

Charlotte is excitedly heading downstairs.

She is always excited to see her father.

There are four more steps before the platform but Charlotte cared less about them as she jumps, to land her body, to her Daddy’s.

And like, every other time, David caught her in his arms.

They hugged.

So tight, not letting go of each other.

David spins Charlotte, the same thing she did to Becky.

“Charlotte misses Daddy so so much!”

Freen bites her lips to prevent herself from smiling, she finds it funny that Charlotte uses a third person to talk to David.

Becky is right, Charlotte is her complete opposite and immature, Freen thought.

David squeezed Charlotte’s cheeks and patted her head.

“Daddy, please tell me you miss me too and please tell me what you always tell me.”

Charlotte demands using her baby talk.

Freen puffs her cheeks.

She finds Charlotte adorable with that action.

Her eyes went to David and Freen soften her expression.

She sees awkwardness in David’s eyes but loves overpowers it.

David loves his daughters more than anything in the world.

No, he loves his family more than anything in the world and the scene in the car plays back in Freen’s mind.

A father will do everything to protect her children.

“Daddy!”

Charlotte whines, pouting her lips.

David smiled.

Freen is once again, impressed.

David’s reactions are genuine as long as it involves her daughters.

“Arra, Charlotte is pretty,” David says gently patting Charlotte’s head.

Charlotte closes her eyes enjoying this comfort from her father.

“Charlotte has pretty eyes,”
