Why won't these feelings go away..?

The Truth?

I wasn't sure what to do. I decided to call Max, she's the only one I can talk to right now. As soon as I called she said she was coming over. I sat down, all I can do now is wait. About 10 minutes later she had already arrived. She walked downstairs and sat down next to me.

Max: "So, what's up Wheeler?"

Mike: "I needed someone to talk to. And your the only I can tell this."

Max: "What happened?"

Mike: "El broke up with me."

Max: "REALLY!"

Mike: "You don't seem very sad abouy it!"

Max: "I'm not, you weren't a very good boyfriend."

Mike: "YES I WAS!"

Max: "You keep telling yourself that. Anyway I'm guessing you want me to tell you how to get El back, why didn't you just ask Lucas or something?"

Mike: "NO! They can't know. And I don't actually know if I should try win El back."

Max: "Why?"

Mike: "It just doesn't feel right. Like maybe we should stay apart. Do you know what I mean?"

Max: "I think so.. Maybe El just wasn't the right girl for you. I'm sure there's someone else out there for you."

Mike: "That's the other thing. I think I might like.."

Max: "What I couldn't hear you on the last part."

Mike: "I don't like El like that."

Max: "Yeah you fell out of love."

Mike: "No. I never liked El.."

Max: "WHAT! Then why did you start dating her?"

Mike: "So that I could hide that I like.."

Max: "I can't hear what your saying ag-"

Mike: "I LIKE BOYS!"

I stared at her not saying anything. There it was. The truth. What I was scared of admitting. It had finally been said (but only to Max). What was she going to say, she's definitely going to be disgusted!

Max: "I KNEW IT!"

Mike: "W-what?"

Max: "Atleast you finally admitted it."

Mike: "So you did know."

Max: "Yep. Since we first met actually, you weren't like Lucas or Dustin. Same with Will."

Mike: "What do you mean by Will?"

Max: "He definitely likes boys as well."

Mike: "WHAT! There's no way Will is gay. El even said in her letter that he likes a girl."

Max: "Omg your so oblivious."

Mike: "It's true, we've been bestfriends for years. I think I would realise if he had even a tiny gay spark for me."

Max: "Well who did he give the painting to then?"

Mike: "Me.."

I stood up and ran upstairs into my bedroom. I took the painting off the wall and walked back downstairs to the basement to show max it. I sat down next to her and handed her the painting.

Max: "WOW Will is really good at painting!"

Mike: "Yeah, he really is.."

Max further examined the painting, trying to figure out what was going on.

Mike: "It's our characters from D&D. The one at the front is me."

Max: "Oh! What are you like a knight or something?"

Mike: "Paladin."

Max: "Oh okay?"

She looked at the painting closely, before a grin started to appear on her face.

Max: "Look what's on the shield."

I looked at the painting and realised what it was. A heart.

Mike: "It's a heart.."

Max: "Exactly maybe he's trying to hint at  something."

Mike: "Like wha- No your not seriously talking about me and Will liking each other again are you?"

Max: "C'mon just admit it already."

Mike: "No. I don't like him like that. We're just friends."

Max: "Maybe now but I bet in the future you will be more then just friends."

Mike: "This is pointless!"

I grabbed the painting from her hands and kept hold of it tightly. What was she talking about? More then friends? SHE KNOWS THAT ME AND WILL DON'T LIKE EACH OTHER LIKE THAT. So why does she keep bringing it up. I sighed and sat back on the sofa. She should just leave already, I don't want to talk about this anymore.

Mike: "Max can you leave? This is all useless Will obviously doesn't like me."

Max: "Fine Wheeler. See you later."

I watched as she walked upstairs and closed my eyes. This is all just so confusing, do I like Will? I mean he is the kindest person I know. He's always the one there for me, I like him more then any of my other friends. I mean Max, Lucas, Dustin and El.. Are great but it would never be the same without Will. And he's also really pretty, his eyes always shimmer in the sunlight and even the way he dresses is really cute. He has good fashion sense. I always find myself staring at him, I thought it was nothing at first but maybe it is because I like him. I smiled, how did I never realise this until now?
