Why won't these feelings go away..?

Letters

I walked past everyone, trying to not get noticed.

Dustin: "Hey Mike, where are you going?"

Mike: "I'm going home."

Eleven: "Did something happen?"

Mike: "No El. Everything's great.."

Will came walking over.

Lucas: "Oh Will your back- are you okay?"

Will was crying. God I'm an awful friend. What should I do?

Will: "I'm going home."

Max: "You too?"

Dustin: "What happened? Actually you don't have to tell us anything. We'll see you later."

Will: "Okay? Jonathan's here now so I have to leave."

Everyone except Mike: "Bye Will!"

Will looked at me, before turning around to leave. I wanted to say something to him. To apologise. But I just don't know how this time. Max tapped me on the shoulder and gave me a little piece of paper. It read: "Meet at your house. Tell me what happened." I passed the piece of paper back to her but wrote yes on the back. After that I decided to go home, I should stay in the basement and wait for Max. It feels like this happened before.  A couple hours later, Max had arrived. She sat down next to me on the sofa.

Max: "So what happened this time?"

Mike: "We went to kiss.."

Max: "WHAT! FINALLY YOU KISS-"

Mike: "We didn't end up kissing each other though. I pulled away."

Max: "WHAT? Why I thought you liked Will?"

Mike: "I do. Well I think I like him. Maybe. I'm not sure."

Max: "Oh c'mon, just admit that you like him already."

Mike: "No! I don't know that yet, and what would everyone think?"

Max: "And there it is."

Mike: "What?"

Max: "You don't want to admit that you like Will because your scared what everyone would think."

Mike: "WHAT! THAT'S NOT TRUE AT ALL!"

Max: "Stop lying to yourself."

Mike: "I'M NOT! SO STOP THINKING LIKE THAT!"

I was starting to get frustrated now. She needs to stop thinking that I like Will. I don't! I'm just confused, I probably just haven't found the right girl yet.

Max: "Your so hopeless. You can't just live you whole life hiding."

Mike: "Yes I can."

Max: "Fine then, if you really don't like Will then get back together with El."

Max stood up and went to walk upstairs. Before turning around,

Max: "But I suggest you apologise to Will."

I watched as she walked up the stairs. She's right though I still need to apologise to Will. That was the whole reason I called her over! I walked over to the phone but accidentally tipped over a pile of paper. Dammit. I bent down and started picking them up. I flipped over the first sheet of paper and realised what it was. My letters to Will, I was going to send these to him because I was getting sick of not being able to call Will. (Due to Joyce's telemarketer job). I wonder what I wrote. I sat down on the sofa and started reading through the first letter.

                           It read:
      
       Dear Will,
      
       How have you been? I thought
       that it would be a nice idea to
       write you a letter, since I can't
       call that much because of Joyce's             new job. I̶'v̶e̶m̶i̶s̶s̶e̶d̶y̶o̶u̶a̶l̶o̶t̶. H̶a̶v̶e̶             Y̶o̶u̶m̶i̶s̶s̶e̶d̶m̶e̶ t̶o̶o̶?̶ Maybe when
       I come to visit we can play dnd
      and Nintendo like old times.
      Anyway I̶c̶a̶n̶'t̶w̶a̶i̶t̶ t̶o̶s̶e̶e̶y̶o̶u̶a̶g̶a̶i̶n̶.     
      There's only a few weeks left then      
      I'm aloud to come visit you again.

Now I see why I never ended up sending any of these letters. I kept scribbling through most of the words, which makes it kinda annoying to read. Love Mike? WAIT I WROTE LOVE MIKE! I CAN'T REMEMBER WRITING THAT! Why would I write that I don't like Will like that I probably just meant it as I love you as a friend. Yeah. That's gotta be right. I took a deep breath. I really need to slow down my thinking. I should really go and hide these letters somewhere, I can't imagine what would happen if someone found them. I stood up from the sofa and hid all of the letters underneath my bed. No-one looks under my bed anyway, so it should be fine. Now, I need to go apologise to Will.
