(CW: Panic attack, harming oneself due to having a meltdown, mentions of chronic pain)
Vesper woke up with intense pain across hir hips and back, the aftermath of being out and about finally caught up to hir. Vesper winced as hir sat up on the bed and exhaled harshly through hir teeth. Vesper looked across and saw that Luminix wasn't in bed. Weird. Vesper looked over, seeing hir wheelchair on the opposite side of hir bed and sighed.
"Damnit. Great... just great." Vesper sighed.
Vesper looked at hir wheelchair and slowly started to move off of the bed, hissing through hir teeth and panted. The pain was slowly building up its intensity; Vesper trying to push through. Vesper sighed and attempted to push hirself up to a standing position, letting out a small yelp, and hir body forced itself to sit down. Vesper hissed again, face contorted with pain.
"C'mon damnit." Vesper whispered, trying to stand up again, vision swarming with colours, legs shaking and whimpering, tears streaming down hir face. "C'mon..." Vesper whimpered.
Vesper tugged on hir rays, gripping on the bed with hir lower arms and trying to push hirself into standing position and when it didn't work, ze started to smack hir faceplate and tug at hir rays more. This was getting frustrating. Vesper growled, trying to now force hirself to stand, ignoring the spike of pain the ensued after, legs shaking and preventing hir from moving.
"God... dammit!" Vesper growled, hitting hirself in the head with the palm of hir fists. "Why can't I do this?" Vesper huffed, tugging at hir rays down, lowering hir head down.
Everything was just a blur of colours. There was just ringing in hir auditory processors; everything was overwhelming. Vesper started to hit hirself harder and scratch at hir rays, yanking on hir rays while muttering curses. Vesper then felt gentle hands trying to pry hir hands away, making Vesper freak out.
"No! I can do it! I can!" Vesper shouted, tears streaming down faster. The hands stayed on hir own and tried to talk to hir and make Vesper calm down.
"Vespy... it's ok. You're ok. Please... no one is here to hurt you. You're ok." a calm, gentle voice spoke.
Vesper shook hir head quickly. "No! I... I don't need help!" Vesper panicked.
Ze then felt gentle rubbing on hir hands, placing Vesper's hand on the one who was comforting on their chest. Vesper leaned in, head touching the other's chest and feeling gently touched across hir back. The voice soon became clearer, and Vesper clinged onto the one who was holding hir.
"L-Lumi?" Vesper stuttered.
"I'm here, Vespy. I'm here. Everything is alright." Luminix whispered.
Vesper panted, frantically looking up at Luminix with a teary face. "Lumi..." Vesper murmured.
Luminix held Vesper, one holding hir wrist, one hand on the back of hir head and the other two on the middle and upper back. Luminix whispered to Vesper until ze calmed down to a point where ze could form coherent sentences. Once Vesper calmed down, ze looked up at Luminix; heavy breathing coming out of hir mouth.
"Vespy..." Luminix said.
"L-Lumi... what happened?" Vesper asked, slowly pulling away and looking around both of them.
"You had a panic attack caused by a meltdown. You were hurting yourself. I came in here and saw you in a state of panic. I had to calm you down." Luminix said, rubbing the back of Vesper's wrists with ver thumb.
"I don't... I don't remember, though. I just remember being in pain. I couldn't get up..." Vesper muttered.
Luminix's facial expression dropped in sadness and sighed. "I'm so sorry, Vesper. I should've been there to help you. I'm sorry." Luminix said.
"What do you...?" Vesper started, looking at Luminix, who was covered in so much blood. "Luminix... why is there so much blood on you?" Vesper asked. "Did you get hurt?" ze stared up at ver.
"I'll..." Luminix sighed. "I went back so I could kill that bastard over and over." Luminix pressed ver lips into a thin line.
Vesper hitched a breath and covered hir mouth, slowly lowering hir hands and hugging Luminix, getting a hug back. Luminix hugged Vesper in a secured hug and exhaled deeply, rubbing Vesper's rays with a gentle touch. Vesper let out a shakey breath and spoke.
"Please just... don't leave me. I don't wanna be left alone again." Vesper begged quietly.
"I won't. I promise. I'm so sorry, Vespy. I never wanted you to panic. I assure you, I won't leave you and I'll make sure I'll be there with you whenever... to the best of my abilities." Luminix quietly said, rubbing up and down Vesper's back.
Vesper exhaled deeply and closed hir eyes. "Thank you." ze whispered.
"Always." Luminix whispered back. "Now, want help up? The others are setting up for breakfast." Luminix asked, pulling away, holding onto Vesper.
Ve received a nod and ve went to get Vesper's wheelchair and helped hir get situated in it. Vesper hummed and looked up at Luminix. "Thank you, Lumi.' Vesper said shyly.
Luminix chuckled. "Anytime... also..." Luminix said, walking over to the closet and pulling out a fluffy throw blanket and folding it, walking back to Vesper, and laying the blanket on Vesper's lap. Vesper snorted and chuckled.
"Where did you get this?" Vesper asked.
"From the parade. I got it from one of the venues. I put it in the bag that your wheelchair comes with." Luminix smiled.
"Huh... wait, it has a bag?" Vesper said, twisting hir torso. Luminix laughed and made Vesper turn to face forward.
"Yes, it does. Now, let's go, yeah?" Luminix said, going towards the back of the wheelchair and pushing hir out of the bedroom.
Vesper hummed and leaned back. "Yeah. Yeah." Small bits of giggles escaping hir.
