(CW: Failed suicide mention; self harm mention; along with other various topics of injuries being mentioned)

Have you ever wondered why all of the variants were so forms of gloves? Some form of covering for their arms? Or how about why they always wear chokers? Or some form of way to cover their necks? Have you ever wondered why that is? What about the different variations of how they wear their ribbons?

Well, there's always a reason for everything. There's a reason why the variants cover their arms and necks and add a ribbon to their outfit. No, it's not because of any modesty reason, nothing like that. No one outside of their circle is allowed to know the secrets nor the truth of why they do this. You can say it's a tradition, more or less.

It all started with the original Eclipse. Ever since they gained their own sentience, they felt uncomfortable in their own body. They were upset... angry... felt betrayed that their Moon up and abandoned them. He believed that it was Moon's fault that everything had happened to him. Though, there were times that Eclipse truly believed that he; himself; was the reason that no one would ever love him. Everyone would leave him and betray him. And that came true. So, Eclipse punished himself. He mutilated his own arms.

So much so that it became a permanent thing on their body. The pain; emotional, mental and physical all came crashing down and their body recognized the injuries as critical damaged, yet despite all attempts to fix their casing; the scars became a permanent reminder of what Eclipse went through. Now... Eclipse couldn't let anyone see the scars. The others would believe that they are weak and they couldn't have that. So, they made themselves gloves that went up to their elbows, never for the scars to be seen again... though there was still a lingering burning sensation.

Now, what about the choker? Not a thin one... but a thick one. Well, for different variants, it's all different. Same with the gloves. For the original Eclipse, it was the star's doing. You see, ever since Eclipse got his hands on his star, it attached itself to Eclipse core; which happens to be in the middle of his chest. So, every time he used it, the star would let out a burst of energy and damage his core. And with that, a large black crack that was sucken in to look like a hole was formed on Eclipse's chest. The cracks soon spread up to the left sidd Eclipse's collar bone and shoulder and a bit of their forearm. And, the cracks were visible on their neck. A smaller crack like the one on their chest formed; spider webbed like cracks spread and lined up with some of the bigger ones that could be seen.

So, Eclipse made themselves a choker; one that could cover up all of their neck. He made sure that no one could see the cracks; wearing shirts with blazers so as to not let the injuries be seen by others.

Now... what about the others? Well, for the other variants' arms, they're all a different story, just like their necks. Eclipse's story happens to be first... For the others, for instance, Solaris... the reason why they wear a choker is because of guilt. The amount of guilt over the fact that they truly believed that it was their fault that his Sun and Moon weren't the same anymore took over. So, Solaris thought it would've been best to get rid of himself... by hanging himself. It failed, obviously, but a flash of light Illuminated his neck, and a black line formed around his neck; a reminder of his attempt. Solaris found a choker and put it on, not letting anyone know the truth.

Solaris wears gloves that only go up to their wrists, so for that, he wears long sleeves a lot. It can't be avoided. He wraps his arms in bandages. Thick white bandages. Why cover up his arms? So many accidents... well, half of them were. While working as a mechanic, you tend to be at risk for henious injuries. Most would hiss at the injures, but Solaris had embrace getting hurt. It took their mind off of it, after all.

There's always a reason why the chokers and gloves are there. Luminix; ve can't remember the reason why ve wear such clothing items. The gloves, choker and ribbon... ve just believed it's a fashion choice... though those weird flashbacks say differently.

Vesper; ze remember vaguley. You might want to believe it was Mox. But, no... you're wrong. For the star burns very much, and once it latches on to you, it can never go away. That burning sensation goes to the most sensitive parts it recognizes. Chest and neck being one of them. Vesper's Lunar; Hesperios, wrapped hir arms up along with hir neck. But, ever since Vesper's world had been destoryed; the choker and gloves had been a gift from the variants.

Pulsar; their star had been advanced. Though, while advancing it... Pulsar was a bit too risky in doing so. It was painful. More painful than when the star latched onto them. The star's burst of energy and power was like an incinerator burning away at Pulsar's metal flesh, melting it in the process.

Now that you know the reasons for the gloved and chokers... what about the ribbons? Well, that would have to be another story for another day. Though, the placements might give a hint or two.

Eclipse wears a thick ribbon around his abdomen.

Pulsar wears a slightly less thicker ribbon around their waist.

Solaris wears a thin ribbon around their top left wrist.

Vesper wears a thin ribbon around one of hir rays.

Luminix wear a thick ribbon around ver left leg.

The variants are truly a mystery now, are they? The core of their chest is what the star latches onto. The core of it all.
