Lillith's first sword fighting lesson

Lillith fell of her butt for what seemed like the thousandth time. She was covered in sweat and cuts and bruises. Amber was going her best to teach her but she just wasn't any good at this. Amber came over and helped help up.

"I told you to tuck those chicken wings in. That's a weakness, don't leave yourself exposed."

"Amber let's be honest I suck at this."

"This is your first time go easy in yourself."

"Yeah but we have been doing this for like three hours now and I haven't improved."

"No you have you just don't see it. When he first started out I was taken you done easy but I have had to up my game a lot since then. Unfortunately for you your up against one of the best swordplayers in the Hermes cabin so it's unlikely that you will beat me."

"Alright change over." Shouted one of the boys. They did this a lot. Changed their opponent but Amber had stayed with Lillith for a while because she was new. "Amber you too this time."

"Oh come on Jake she's new."

"I know but she has improved in the last three hours right? So it's time for her to practise against someone else. It's the only way we learn." Amber sighed and saw a girl with brown hair coming towards him.

"Alright that's Cara she's not too bad. Listen carefully Cara's technic is gokd but her floor is that she doesn't move. She fights in the same spot use that to your advantage. Your small, quick and despite the looks of you your blows pack some serious punch. Use that to your advantage, your your strength and play on her weakness that's how you win alright?"

"Yeah got it thanks."

"Amber move. Now." Called the boy named Jake.

"Alright I'm going. Good luck." She said to Lillith before moving on.

"Hey." Lillith said to the girl before her. "I'm Lillith."

"Cara." She said simply before positioning herself in a fighting pose. Lillith sighed and did the same with her two dagger, just like Amber had taught her. Then without warning Cara took a large step forward and slashed at Lillith. It took her by surprise and it made a large cut in her arm which began to bleed instantly. She slashed at Lillith again but this time Lillith jumped to the side and dodged it. Then she bent down and used her dagger so cut deep into Cara's legs. She yelled a little in pain and backed away from Lillith. She looked angry but still just like Amber said she didn't move. She stayed in the same place hoping that she might cut Lillith again but she knew the trick now. As long as she kept moving, Cara couldn't hit her. All she needed she to get Cara to drop her weapon, then she can claim victory. Covered in dry blood from the wound inflicted by Amber a few hours earlier Lillith charged into action. She could so this. She slashed and dodged all of Cara's static attacks. She took technics she leanrt from Amber and soon Cara flew to the floor. Lillith smiled to herself she had won, she had actually won.

"Wow Lillith that was great." Said Amber from a distance but she spook to soon and Cara began to get up.

"The fights not over yet. I didn't drop my weapon." She said glaring at Lillith. Lillith could feel herself getting angrier and angrier. She had clearly won so why didn't Cara just admit defeat? She had been so close to winning and now she wasn't. Cara moved forward and came at Lillith, she was actually moving this time but she was slow compared to Lillith. She dodged to the side but by the time she came to face Cara again her sword was already coming down on her again. Lillith didn't have time to dodge so she used her two daggers and placed then above her head to stop Cara's sword. With locked weapons above their heads the two began a battle of shear power and will but with a demigod so close Lillith could smell that delicious smell. The same one sh,e smelt of Nico and Aurora. This one wasn't as powerful as Nico but much stronger than the one Aurora gave off. Lillith but her lip really hard making it bleed, she could not do what she wanted to. The thought of such a thing made her scared and disgusted in herself at the same time. She had to get Cara away from her, for Cara's own safest. With her new string will Lillith pushed Cara away from her and she was sent flying back. Cara did a backflip and was back on her feet. Lillith glared at her.

"Just drop the damn sword." She said angrily to herself so that no one but she could hear. Cara suddenly screamed in pain and threw her sword on the floor and pulled her hand into her chest. The scream made everyone look over and some come running to her aid. Lillith looked at the sword which lay on the ground. The handle was a burning red colour.

"Cara, what's wrong?" A girl asked.

"I don't know. All of a sudden the sword of my handle just git really hot and burned me." She said as tears of pain slide down her face. She showed the crowd her hand and in the middle of her palm their was a massive burn the shape on her sword handle. Lillith stared at the scene in front of her. She did that, she knew she did. This was part of the strange things she could do. She had started a fire before and moments ago she had had a large desire for Cara to drop her sword and she did...only Lillith had unwillingly really hurt her.

"We need to get her to the infirmary now." Said someone but then Lillith felt a very cold hand grab her right wrist and pull her away from the scene. She looked up to see...

"Nico?"

"I honestly thought I could leave you alone for a little bit. Guess I was wrong." He sounded angry and pulled her out of view of everyone else then turned to face her. "I come back and finally find out where you and the Hermes cabin are and that's what I see? What just happened?"

"Well the aim of the game was to get the other person to drop their weapon. I did beat her fair and square but she got back up. She wouldn't drop it, I got angry because I was so close to winning and then that's when he sword handle became really hot and she got burned. Nico I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt her I lost control."

"I'm not worried about her. A bit of Nectar and she'll be fine what I'm worried about is you. You have to learn to control those powers of yours is you don't and you continue to hurt other demigods like that, even by accident Chiron will have to conclude that your a monster and I'll have to kill you."

"I thought the whole reason you being here was to kill me because you Father told you too?"

"I don't always agree with my Father. I guess I did at first but I know that your not a monster or at least there is some part of you that is civilised. I don't want to kill you, not now that I know you a little better. You look to human and...you seem to accept me."

"Nico I'm sorry. I will try to keep it under control, I will try. I'll try to not get angry and have more outbursts like that."

"Tonight, meet me on this field."

"Why?"

"Because I'm going to teach you how to use those daggers of your properly, without having to use your powers. That way you can get her to drop it with ease next time." Lillith smiled at him making Nico's cheeks heat up a little. "W-why are you smiling like that?"

"I'm just happy your here. Thank you for all your help."

"Yeah whatever just stop smiling. You look like an idiot..."
