Lillith takes charge

Lillith stood with her capture the flag team. The Ares kids were getting really aggressive and loud. Lillith had met Clarisse the Ares head counsellor. She was really scary and she had an electric spear. Amber was all dressed up in her gear and stood next to Lillith. There were the blue team. It consisted of Hermes, Hecate, Apollo, Nike, Ares and Tyche. She learnt that the Demeter, Aphrodite and Hypos cabin don't take part in the capture the flag game. On the red team was Athena, Poseidon, Hephaestus, Nemesis, Iris, Hebe and Dionysus because a lot of them were small cabins. Lillith spotted Nico stood with his sword a little way away. She snuck over to him.

"Nico you joining in?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"I don't want to."

"Why? You scared it will damage your scary guy image?"

"Hey Nico you should join our team." Shouted Will Solace. Everyone turned to look at him and Lillith.

"Wait if Nico's joining he should be on our team." Said a boy on the red team.

"No way dude you've got Percy..." Said Travis.

"Yeah you can't have two children of the big three." Connor finished for him.

"I believe it is Nico choice." Said Chiron making everyone else shut up. Lillith watched Nico. He did not want to play but the way Lillith was looking at him persuaded him to join the game.

"I'll go with blue." He said making the blue team cheer. Lillith gave him a smile but little did she know that she was the only reason he was playing and the reason he picked the blue team...

"Lou Ellen you and the rest of your cabin make one of those magical borders around the flag." Said Clarisse taking over the action on the blue team.

"How long to you expect us to hold it for?"

"Until we win."

"We can't do that. Do you have any idea how draining putting up a barrier like that is?"

"Your gonna have to try because I am not cleaning out those gross toilets again because we lost to the smart kids again." She said angrily. "The Apollo and Tyche guys stay with them. Defend them if any of them sneak past. Hermes and my cabin will get the flag."

"That's not going to work." Said Lillith a little louder than she planned too. Everyone turned to face her with shocked expressions on their faces. No one said that about Clarisse's plans unless they had a death wish.

"What did you just say?" Said Clarisse through gritted teeth.

"There are so many floors in that plan it's ridicules. The hermes and Ares cabin can't just run off like that, your the strongest fighters this team has got."

"What do you say we do then?" Asked another Ares kid. Lillith took a deep breath.

"Alright heres the plan. Hecate cabin you stay here and do whatever you can with that magic barrier and Tyche cabin stay and do whatever you can to help. While they are performing the spell they will be venerable which os why they will need protection. Apollo cabin is best fighting at long distance with their bows so get then high up in the trees. They can pick of enemies at long range but we still need some on the ground. Half of the Hermes cabin should stay and provide that ground protection. Then the rest of the Hermes and the Ares cabin will charge into battle as our strongest fighters."

"Who gonna get their flag?" Said someone from the crowd.

"The Nike cabin, me and Nico. We will sneak around the back and get the flag that way while Hermes and Ares provide a good distraction."

"Why is a creepy guy like Nico and you the witch getting the flag?"

"Because think about it. How many of you hear Nico approach? You don't, he is silent and he can fade into the shadows. He can get there without being seen and so can I. The Athena cabin might be smart but they can't fight off something if they don't know that it's there."

"I still think the original plan was better." Said a proud Ares kid but no one agreed with him.

"No it's not. I have never played this game before but I can see that it's a game dependent on team work and planning. That's why the Athena kids always win because they work out a way to work as a team. We need to use everyone's skills to our advantage to our advantage. Not only that but this way the red team have to get past 4 lines of defence before they get that flag." The crowd murmured in agreement with her plan.

"Alright people that's the plan. Get to work." Said Clarisse. Lillith sighed as she watched everyone move about. Her head was feeling woozy and her leg was hurting.

"Hey." Said Nico coming up behind her. "You did good up there."

"Thanks..." She said genuinely meaning it...
