The drawing and memories

Lillith was walking towards the school gate when she saw the new kid Nico appear from out of the shadows. Lillith stopped and glared at him. Did she imagine things or did he just like come out of the shadows themselves? In his hands she saw that he had the notebook she had given him in class earlier that day.

"You ditching school?" He asked her.

"Yeah why got a problem with it?"

"No you just said you had to come to school."

"Yeah I do but I've had enough. I hate this place."

"You forgot to take you notebook back." He said coming closer to her.

"I didn't forget I thought that you needed it more than I did so I left it with you."

"How do you know what a manticore looks like?"

"What the hell is that?" Nico flipped some pages of the notebook and showed her one of her drawings.

"This is a manticore."

"You looked through my drawings? I gave you that to help you not so you could look through my personal stuff."

"A manticore is an ancient monster from greek mythology. They kill anything in sight and you've drawn a very detailed picture of it, almost as if you've seen one yourself."

FLASHBACK-
A nine year old Lillith stood completely still, frozen in fear. It was dark outside and she had been walking back to the orphanage when she had spotted that thing stood in the middle of the streets. The monster before her had the body of a lion, the head of a human man and the tail of a scorpion. What was that thing? She thought in a panicked way. The monster turned around and spotted her watching him. He walked right up to her face and sniffed.

"Please don't eat me." She said under her breath.

"Eat you? Why on earth would I eat you?" Said the minster backing away from her.

"Y-you can talk?"

"Yes."

"But your a...your a monster."

"A manticore actually but yes I can talk but then again so can you and your not human."

"N-not human?"

"I must go now but it was nice to meet you." It said before lowering its head to her. Was it bowing to her? Before she could say anything more the monster turned and vanished into the night.
END OF FLASHBACK-

"No I haven't I just saw it in a book I was reading one time." Lillith explained trying to keep her cool after the scene she just remembered. That thing...that manticore said she wasn't human...but then what was she?

"You said earlier you had dyslexia do you have ADHD too?"

"Yeah I do."

"Oh my Gods, this is confusing." Nico said under his breath.

"Gods...you made it plural...why did you do that?" She heard that? He had said it pretty quietly as well.

"Did I? Didn't mean too." Lillith could tell that there was more to the story but she knew that it wasn't her business. A gust of wind blew and Lillith got a whiff of something...something that smelt really good. She had smelt it before. Where was it?.. Aurora. That's where she had smelt it before. It was exactly the same but Nico's was much more potent. Lillith had always put it down to some perfume she had. None of the others kids smelt like that but then again Nico looked like the kind of guy that wouldn't wear perfume even if you paid him too. The smell...it made her want to...to...

"Thanks for returning this." Lillith said taking the notepad and quickly walking off. The smell made her want to sink her teeth into his skin...
