The pack was preparing, the training session have been increased, border security were being kept at the maximum, the war was really coming but I could not understand anything, there had not been any declaration but Kaden was sure that his life would be targeted and my life as well.

I was frightened,but I was trying my best to hide it from everyone including Kaden, I was now Luna and I don't think I would be given the privilege to breakdown in front of them, I had to be strong, the Alpha and Luna's strength determines how strong a pack was.

It has just been a week since the Alpha King death, news also arrived that the Alpha Queen was missing and the entire atmosphere had completely changed.

If Luna Tamara was involved in this should she not have been arrested by now, would Tamara actually kill her parents just to put her son on the throne, Luna Tamara was my mother's closest friend, it was difficult to think that the woman that once was like a second mother to me could commit evil—Kaden was sure about it but there was no proof, and the council-wolves would not harm Tamara without evidence despite how powerful Kaden was in our world.

I held my belly subconsciously countless of times now, I wanted my mind to be at ease that my baby was safe and well in the comfort of my womb.

"Well, I am glad you told the Alpha about the pregnancy" Hannah smiles, I smiled back weakly, I did not tell her what actually transpired, I never got to tell Kaden, I got caught but she did not have to know that, there was no need in dwelling in the past when there was a potential chaos ahead.

I had returned to my usual work after Hannah statement, she had tried bringing up a few conversations occasionally while we attend to patients but I was not feeling it, I know that I was appearing cold and withdrawn but I was on a edge, this war concept was not sitting well with me, but I admired how calm Hannah was, how she was going about her day without feeling unbothered, it was either she was good in controlling her emotions or she was just simply heartless, but I know the first option was the truth, Hannah was a trained doctor and I am sure she had been trained to keep her head up no matter how difficult the situation was.

Evening came soonest and as usual Kaden was waiting for me at the door, he appeared calm and it brought a sense of comfort to me, he enclosed my hands with his as we walked to the dining halls.

It is funny how I had once complained that I had barely had a normal meal without any chaos, the quiet dinner with the pack members was a reminder that Ciara was no more, she had been present in every altercation that had occurred involving me in this halls and she had been a major contributor to most, she was dead, and it still felt unreal, one week had gone by but the pack members were acting like it didn't exist or they were just good at hiding it, I know that Ciara was not well perceived in this pack , and she even despised me ,but I had never wished death on her and she did not deserve that death, she was young and she still had her future plans.

I know that I have no right to judge how this pack members reacts, but I was slowly turning into a ball of mess, my pregnancy hormones was not helping matters to begin with and I feel like, any time from now I will burst out into tears,

I was done with dinner, before Kaden got up from his seat ready to make an announcement, I draw in a deep breath, while he sighed before the words came forth from his mouth "This would be the last night for the meantime we would have dinner together in this halls, I know that it has become a tradition of ours for the past three years—I know you all do not wish to stop this tradition, rather we will suspend it for a while till things get back to normal. We have to be ready for anything at anytime and gathering in this halls together at the same time endangers us and we stand a good risk of ambush, that I can not allow, you are my family, my pack and I will make sure that it remains that way for as long as I live in this world" he concluded, claps erupted around the halls.
