Chapter 1.
The bright sun shined down on the pavement of the amusement park. I walked around smiling and dancing. My dress was huge and I couldn't breathe most of the time, this was paying for college, this wasn't bad. I signed little girls books and took pictures with them. Dressing up as Bell for the happiness of children, it was worth it... I was afraid of roller coasters but I loved seeing people happy, so watching these strangers step off the rides and smiling, or hugging me and asking for my signature, it was like being famous, even if they weren't asking for me, they were asking for Bell.
I have been working at Disneyland for nearly a year. I honestly love the job - but could do with more air considering this dress is a death trap. I go on mini-tours to hospitals and schools, so I mean I'm doing what I've always wanted. My dad died from liver cancer - sucks to be an alcoholic - my mom has been pushing me into the college world, but I really just want to run away and be in a band.
The park was about to close, I was walking to the castle to get undressed and go home when a man tapped my shoulder. I turned smiling, I was met with a huge hug from a full grown man covered in tattoos and a nose ring.
"Bell?" He smiled.
"Yes, good sir?" I curtsied.
"I'm really thankful for your existence." He looked at his feet.
I placed my hand on his arm. "I'm thankful for yours." I knew this guy, my dream man... I mean literally, my heart jumped when I saw him. Austin Carlile from Of Mice And Men, I was about to spaz out. He was my inspiration, my dedication.
He smiled, "I don't know many princesses that self-harm." I glanced at my wrist. And then took my hand back.
"I must go, have a lovely time." I ran to the castle, smiling but crying still.
I dressed into my casual clothes, black skinny jeans and my slipknot cut tank. I had met my celebrity-crush on the last day of my favourite job, my birthday was a day away and I didn't know whether I was supposed to be happy or sad. I said goodbye to everyone, hugged some Winnie the Poohs and Plutos and then walked to the door that led to the outside of the park. I smiled at the crown they let me keep, Bell was my favourite princess, she was Austin's moms favourite too. Cliché I know.
