Chapter 9
I kissed my mom goodbye, and told her I would call every night, but we both knew that meant once or twice a week. I got in the taxi and squeezed next to Austin, we packed in and I waved one last time before going out of sight. Emily's parents still lived in New Mexico, so she just called them and notified them, they weren't going to see her until next year either way. I patted her knee as we reached the bus.
Alan swung out opening the door for Emily, as Austin did for me, and at the same time they yelled, "WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME!" The guys got the bags, I paid the taxi, and we all headed for the bus. Tino and Phil sat down on the couch right as they walked in. The kitchen was connected with the living room. It was like a super long RV. I stepped in, there was a door to my right that went to the drivers seat. In down the hall on each side there were three bunks, each had a curtain of its own, the first bottom one on the left was Aaron's, filled with pictures of him and his girlfriend, a Calendar, and a map, the bottom one across was Phil's with picks covering across the wall some signed, some metal, some plastic, all different. The one top of Phil's was Tino's he had a couple drumsticks on the walls. Across from his was an empty bunk, Emily quickly claimed it, placing the pillow and blanket she always kept at my house on it. I walked farther down, there was a larger bunk area that was obviously Alan's, all the walls were covered in cats and pictures of smoking tricks. Across from him there was another large bunk area, it had a picture of Austin and his dad, and another picture of him and his mom, and then one of him and Alan on the ceiling. He had a Squidgy hat and large stuffed animal Squidgy. I smiled still holding my bags.
"You'll be staying with me, if you don't mind?" Austin opened a small cubby under his bed where I put my bag. Smiling, I shook my head no. I walked farther back there was a door that lead to a restroom with a small shower, sink and toilet. Austin laid his arms on my shoulders. "It's cozy here, I think you two will love it." I placed my toiletry bag in a cabinet.
"I know we will love it, but there's going to be twelve weeks out of the year that you just might hate us." I laughed, Austin shuddered, "but we'll try to handle that with out your knowledge."
Tino yelled from the front, "I watched this one show where this girl was stuck in this job with two guys for a year, and when it came to the dreaded week all the guys got affected."
We entered the living room as Phil looked into Tino's eyes with a fear that never wanted that to happen. "Please never say that again."
Tino nodded and hugged Phil, petting his head to calm him. I looked at Austin and then back at the boys. It was right out of some Phino fan fiction. I looked at Aaron, he was in his bunk on the phone with his girlfriend, our first stop was her town, and then we had to go to Denver, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, New York City, and then a plane to Paris. Emily and Alan were talking in the kitchen while Alan made macaroni and cheese.
I took a picture from the middle of the hallway, capturing everyone except Austin and I.
"You're really good at that." He whispered in my ear.
I blushed and then sat on his bed with my legs crossed. My back against the wall opposite of the curtain, he laid down in front of me. "I don't know if this is even real. I mean how is it possible that you just randomly choose a girl at Disneyland and want to know her."
"Have you ever lost someone close to you?"
I nodded.
"And every time you find something that reminds you of them, so you focus on that one thing at that one place so you don't feel like you're missing anything? I have Belle to remind me of my mother. I can't go on roller-coasters so when we go to Disneyland my mission is to find all the princesses. Some recognise me, they tell me how much they love the band and so thankful they got to meet me. I usually say thank you and carry on my day, but I couldn't find Belle yesterday. And I was actually pretty upset, you know? And when I saw you, you looked like this girl who came up to me at a concert and didn't want a picture or an autograph, you just wanted to show me the scars and tattoos you got to cover them. When I saw your scars on your arm I knew you were her. I couldn't get you out of my mind, so I went out to look through everyone leaving the park, when I saw the tattoo on your side, my gut feeling was confirmed. I thought that was the coolest tattoo dedicated to us ever. I mean you got the song and just made it yours. I love it. I mean since the day you asked me to appreciate your tattoos to today you're most of what I thought about."
