Chapter 8
I woke up on my bed, I sat up, my head was throbbing and everything was sort of blurry. I looked over to see a girl with pale skin and fiery red hair. A smile grew across my face, and one grew on hers.
"Rise and Shine morning glory." Emily hugged me. "You know usually when a girl has her favourite band at her house she's telling the world, or at least her best friend."
I blushed, "we met yesterday. I wasn't even thinking straight. He asked me if I wanted to tour with them, be their photographer and interviewer."
Emily nodded, "No surprise there, you're fantastic at both, and Austin really thinks you're something. I mean I always thought he'd be nice and stuff but the way he looked at you when you were sleeping was magical."
I put my hands in my face. "How am I going to ever go with them if I faint all the time?"
Emily grabbed my hand, "That was a one time thing, you never fainted before. So you're definitely going. This is your dream, Alan is talking to the guys about having me join in case something happens."
I smiled, "having a Doctor on tour would be nice."
Emily had graduated when she was 16 and gone to college and got her doctorate by the age of 20 she was an absolute genius. I went to my first actual concert with her and we were concert buddies ever since. Emily got up and started looking through my closet, I began checking my phone, I had a hundred and twenty five texts, and my twitter and Facebook had been blown up. I set my phone down. "Shit Randi, someone found out they're here. Crap crap crap."
I looked up to see Emily dancing in font of my mirror holding a dress I made. It had all of her favourite bands on it, I was going to give it to her for her birthday but she was always busy.
"Go try it on." I urged. She left the room in a rush. I sat, contemplating my answer. Of course I was going on tour with them, I'd be crazy not to. The door opened.
"Happy Birthday to you..." They were singing. I breathed, the entire band came into my room and finished the song. My mom was holding a cake with a big 21 on it. I blew out the candles, making a wish, and then opened my eyes.
"Thank you so much. I completely forgot!" I looked at my phone again, went to the messages and realised they were all Birthday texts.
My mom set the cake aside and then brought out a suitcase and a bag. "You need to get packing, you'll be gone for a year, maybe you'll be close by to visit, but you never know. So don't forget anything important." She kissed my forehead and walked out the door.
The guys all sat down on my bed. Phil patted my foot, "Emily says you never faint, that it was just excitement and reality finally hitting you in the face."
I laughed, "yeah, this has all been extremely dreamy for me."
Aaron started looking through my closet, "we'll be in Australia during the winter so most of the time you can just wear summer clothes, but bring a jacket, and of course party clothes."
"Party clothes? Like with famous people?" I asked, he nodded, I sighed, he chuckled.
"You'll be getting paid to do this, so we can get you clothes." Aaron opened my suitcase and started putting all my jeans in there, and then went through my shirts. "Got enough band tees?"
"Man, leave her alone, she likes bands, who's to blame her." Austin laughed, "you should invest in other shirts though." He directed to me.
Aaron picked out all the OM&M shirts and put them in the suitcase. "I may sound gay when I say this, but you and I, we need to go shopping."
I laughed, thinking about how most of my shopping days consisted of Hot Topic and online merch stores. Alan started talking but was interrupted by Emily walking in. Alan's jaw hung for a little while, Emily stood in the doorway wearing the dress. The heart-shaped corset really emphasised her body, as it puffed out at the bottom, the colours lit up her green eyes and flaming red hair.
"I really love it." She smiled.
"It's yours. I'm sorry the birthday present is so late. Better late than never right?" I rolled out of my bed, and tapped Alan's mouth closed. "It looks fantastic on you."
Alan mumbled something to Austin, "Randi, Emily, would you two like to join us on our tour? I feel as though you both need a break from reality, and I hear you just got out of college so I mean what better way to celebrate than a year-round party?" Austin winked at me. "And your other favourite bands will be there."
I jumped excitedly, "it's a definite yes for me." I bumped hips with Emily, nudging her to say yes. "Wouldn't it be so cool if my concert buddy traveled everywhere with me to Concerts?"
She nodded, "I have to go home and pack.. When do you guys leave?"
"Tomorrow morning, we were all going to go back to the bus, so that we can just leave, we don't have to wake up or anything the bus driver will just drive." Phil smiled, brushing his hair. He messed with the split ends and then looked up realising how girly he might look. "I need a trim."
Phil and Tino left my room to get ready to go back to the bus, Aaron had finished packing for me, I just needed to get my toiletries and any knickknacks I wanted to take along. Aaron left to take the suitcase downstairs.
"I feel bad bring these babes along and Aaron can't bring his girl." Alan laid back on my bed. "She's like the chilliest thing out there. She's a tattoo artist, always had our shows on tv when she's tatting people up. It's fantastic."
I smiled, with a heartfelt pain...
My dad was in the Army, we traveled the world with him, but my parents had trust issues with him being gone all the time. I hated it. My father and I never really got along, I was the only kid that ever fought back. My older brother didn't fight back, he just did what he needed to do and got out. My older sister was of course daddy's little princess. I had the odd friendship with my mother.
"Will we get to see her before or during the tour?" I asked.
Alan nodded, "For sure. She'll probably give you guys have of tats."
I got up, "Well Ems, I'm going to get the rest of my stuff ready, you can change if you like, we'll take you home soon to get your stuff unless you want to buy clothes on the go and just share with me."
Emily sat next to Alan, "I'll get on the go, so we can just spend the rest of the time with each other And not worrying." Alan winked at her, and she began blushing like crazy.
I knew that Emily didn't really listen to rock but senior year I got her really into OM&M and she was head over heels crushing on Alan. She was never really attracted to gingers, but when Alan was introduced she melted. I thought it'd be really cool if Austin and I became a couple and then Alan and Emily became one. But I mean that's the fan girl in me speaking.
I left the room to finish packing. I was pretty much set, my bags were by the door and my camera was around my neck. The tour started tonight, I wasn't going to miss a thing.
