You turn left, slinging the rucksack and canteen over your shoulder, and run straight toward the forest; shooting a few stunning spells as you go, hoping to hit anyone who comes too close. Diving into the trees, you begin to look for a place to hide, wanting to take a moment to apprise the situation. Hearing foot falls coming from behind, you begin to move faster, hoping you can outrun whoever has decided to tail you. Realizing quickly that the thick underbrush is hindering your travel, you dive behind a tree ready to attack whoever is approaching. You hear the footsteps stop nearby, and decide this is the moment. Creeping around the tree, you see a dark figure, but you cannot tell who it is.
Pointing your wand at the figure's back, you are about to cast a spell, when, with a loud SNAP, a twig breaks underneath your feet.
Whirling around the figure points his wand at you as well.
"Is this how you repay me for saving you from that sod, Malfoy?" a familiar voice asks.
"Ron?" you question, keeping your wand pointed at his chest.
"If I were anybody else you'd be dead by now." Ron answers.
Your eyes shift to the wand he holds, which is pointed directly at your heart.
"Boys!" says an annoyed voice from behind another tree.
"Hermione?" you ask, turning your body slightly in the direction of her voice.
"Of course it's me, if it wasn't you'd BOTH be dead." she replies coming out from behind a tree. Even though her tone is light, you see that her wand is also raised.
"So, I guess the question right now is where do we stand? Do we team up, or is it everyone for themselves?" Ron asks his eyes darting between you and Hermione.
