"You called me dadu." (grandfather)

Daksh inquired as he entered his grandfather's room.

"Yes young man, come sit with me."

Tilak Ahuja was setting chess board, his room filled with seer silence, with a low hum coming from radio. It's was 70s song, he guessed.

He made his way towards his grandfather, sitting opposite to him.

He was more opened up to his grand parents and his chori maa (aunty) more, as his mother and father was always busy with their business. He never missed them because his Choti maa (aunty). She was always their to fulfill his mother's place.

"What is it dadu?"

"I will not beat around the bushes son, I want to ask your opinion in marriage."

His breath stuck in his throat. He wasn't ready to talk about marriage. Let alone marriage, he didn't even had a girlfriend since his last ex, which was in college.
He got to know that all the girls were interested in his money and body not in him.

"I.... "

"Do you have a girlfriend."

"No."

"....so you telling me you wasted your youth in that box."

"That's my office dadu not any box."

He knew he wasted his youth working his ass off, but it was better than spending time with someone he didn't get a outcome from.

"Even your PA is a man...."

He didn't wanted any girl to be his PA because they were just throwing themselves at him. And when Yash apporched him as a assistant, he knew he will be a great help. He was punctual and straight forward with a great mind.

"Ehem, beta... You know i will always support you no matter what, right? "

"... What do you mean dadu."

"....are you-you know, interested in men-"

"Did you take your medicine? Do you have fever."

"oh hush, I'm all fine. It's just that you are 30 and you still don't have a girlfriend..."

"This doesn't mean I'm gay dadu."

.....Silence, it was a pin drop silence. After a few minutes his dadu speak again breaking the silence.

"So you are Asexual-"

"Oh God, dadu what the matter with you? "

"Oh okay then, here's this friend of mine, her granddaughter is the sweetest girl I've meet and she will be a good wife for you, trust me beta you will be happy with her."

Marriage, he knew he was crossing the age for marriage, he was 29, 30 in a few months. And he knew he wanted a responsible wife who will take care of his family. But was he ready to be a husband, ready to share his things and problems with someone.

"Dadu I... "

"I know what you thinking, you are ready beta. Marriage is a life journey. You are not in a interview that you will have to give your best. She will bring out the best of you.

She will there with you, at your ups and downs. In your happiness and sadness.
I'm not giving you commands that you have to follow. Just meet her once."

He sighed leaning against the leather chair.

'She will there for you. She will bring out the best of you.'

"When? "

"Oh my God!!"

His eyes went to the gates where he can see some figures. Holding their breath so they don't get caught.

"Choti maa, Dadi, and you fools come out, I can clearly see you all."

They came out slowly showing themselves one by one.

His aunt, grandmother, siblings and to his surprise his cousin, who is rarely to not involved in these things was also there.

"Since when you became one of these?"

"...It was fun to listen. "

Athrav Ahuja, his one and only cousin said smirking at him.

"We are also coming." They all said in unison making him confused as why they all are so excited.

Tilak chuckles shaking his head at their antics.

"Pack your bags we will be going by cars, it's a 9 hour ride to Indore."

"Why car we can take flight to Indore."

"Come on bhai, it will be fun." Dhriti pleaded giving him her best puppy face.

"Okay." He said sighing softly as he knew there was no away he can object any more.

"I'm gonna book the hotels and all."

Aarav moved toward his room to book best hotel so they can stay peacefully.

His grandmother came towards him giving him a sweet smile as she hugged him.

"I'm happy for you bacche. Thank you."

"Aao Daksh dinner kar lo, fir aapne bag pack kar lena." Bhavna said making her way towards the kitchen to serve him.
(Come and have your dinner Daksh, afterwards pack your bags.)

He ate his dinner alone as he was always late for family dinner. In his mind his dadu words ringing.

He went up to his room, packing necessity items and a few clothes for the little trip.

As soon his head hit pillow he was in fast asleep, knowing the fact that tomorrow will bring something new in his life.
