Rajveer had just sent Rahul away with the officers and turned toward Aarohi as they remained at the mandir. The air between them had lightened after the day's events, but suddenly, their attention was drawn to an elderly woman near the temple stairs. She looked unsteady, as though she was about to fall.
Before either could think twice, Rajveer and Aarohi rushed over, helping the old lady regain her balance just in time.
The lady, her voice filled with gratitude, said, "Tum dono ka sukriya mujhe bachaane ke liye."
Aarohi smiled warmly, brushing off the thanks. "Arey, ismein sukriya ki kya baat hai? Yeh toh humara farz tha."
The old woman, her face glowing with kindness, lifted her hands in blessing. "Bhagwaan tum dono ki jodi ko hamesha khush rakhe."
Rajveer and Aarohi, hearing the word "jodi," immediately glanced at each other, taken aback by the implication. Aarohi shifted uncomfortably, quickly trying to clear the confusion.
"Uh... woh hum dono married nahi hain," she corrected with a nervous chuckle.
The old lady, clearly amused by their reaction, waved it off. "Acha? Toh girlfriend-boyfriend ho? Kya farak padta hai? Kabhi toh shaadi karoge hi na."
Rajveer, maintaining his composure but feeling the need to set things straight, responded in his usual calm and serious manner, "Ji, aapko kuch galatfahmi hui hai. Hum sirf dost hain. Yahan kuch kaam se aaye the."
The lady smiled at them as if she knew better. "Acha, acha... maaf karna beta. Lekin tum dono sach mein saath mein kaafi acche lagte ho. Bhagwaan tum dono ko khush rakhe."
With that, she gave them one last affectionate glance and made her way into the temple, leaving Rajveer and Aarohi standing there, both still slightly flustered from the unexpected conversation.
As they walked back to the car, Aarohi couldn't help but smirk to herself. Once inside the car, she shot a glance at Rajveer, clearly amused by the whole situation.
"Kya?" Rajveer asked, sensing the mischief in her eyes.
Aarohi, barely containing her laughter, asked teasingly, "Hamari dosti kab hui?"
Rajveer frowned, confused. "What?"
Aarohi grinned. "Abhi tumne aunty ko bola na, ki hum dost hain... toh hamari dosti kab hui?"
Rajveer, catching on to her playful mood, replied sarcastically, "Jab hamari shaadi hui, Mrs. Sinha."
Aarohi's eyes widened in disbelief. "What?! Yeh kya bakwas thi?"
Rajveer leaned back in his seat, a smug expression on his face. "😏"
Aarohi rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "Aunty ko kya pata... tum jaise Gabbar Singh se shaadi karne se accha toh ladki suicide kar le."
Rajveer's eyes sparkled with amusement. Leaning toward her, he asked in a low voice, "Toh tayaar ho?"
Aarohi blinked, confused by his sudden seriousness. "Kis cheez ke liye?"
"Suicide ke liye," Rajveer replied, his tone deadpan, with just a hint of mockery.
Aarohi groaned, rolling her eyes again. "You know what... pata nahi tumhari biwi tumhe kaise jhelegi. Ek number ke khadoos aadmi ho tum. Jab dekho bas karwa bolte ho. Shayad bachpan mein Dr. Rupali ne karele zyada khila diye the."
Rajveer glared at her, his expression turning serious, and Aarohi immediately shut her mouth, sensing she might've pushed a little too far.
Rajveer, after a long pause, spoke again, his voice now back to its usual, controlled tone. "Acha suno... bhukh wagera lagi hai toh bata do. Is fake ego aur attitude ke chakkar mein bimar mat ho jana."
