So let me get this straight, I've become Alana " LanLan " Bai, and was transmigrated 2 years prior to the start of the novel. This would mean that I've yet to do things that would trigger my death flags, it would also mean that I have yet to meet the main characters because I'm only meeting them once turn 17, which is two years from now on a party.
Which means, I can actually change the story? I can avoid being jailed and the ruination of the Bai family! I can ignore the main characters! I can-
" Why do you have such a stupid look on your face?" LanLan's internal monologue was stopped by a rough male voice.
She didn't realize they were already in the mansion and she has yet to get off the car. " Ryu! How can you say such things to your sister!" Scolds Mrs. Bai, she was currently pinching the ears of a youth standing beside our car.
Mrs. Bai pulls LanLan and waves towards the youth. " Darling this is your older brother Riyuu Bai." The youth grins at me and leans closer to LanLan's face, " So is it true that you've become stupid? " the youth said mockingly prompting Mrs. Bai into an angry fit.
By the time LanLan was ushered into her "new" or rather her original room, she could still hear Mrs. Bai's scolding her "brother" about his inconsiderate behavior.
LanLan marveled at the gorgeous room she had been put in. The room was a mix of pastels and cool tones, luxury was evident but the room was decorated tastefully so it was still very warm and relaxing.
She laid closer to the massive bed on the center of the room, decorated with princess styled gauze curtains, and relished in how soft and comfortable the bed was.
The room also smelled like vanilla with hints of Jasmine. It was evident how much care and love was put into designing this room for it's occupant.
And alone in a well lit room, that was more comfortable and more luxurious than anything LanLan had ever experienced in her entire life, she began to cry. When the shock faded, she began to actually realize that she had died and transmigrated to another world.
She would never see her friends or family ever again. And her mother, oh my god her mother. How painful would it have been to discover her daughter dead on the bottom of the stairs.
LanLan sobbed into the covers of the bed. Muffling her grieving cries. She would never see her mother again, she would never eat any of her mother's dishes. Or get hit by her mother's slippers. She was alone in an unfamiliar world that she read on a novel, with people who have no relationship to her.
She will now have to live a life that isn't, wasn't hers. LanLan's heart hurt so much, she wished she listened to her mother. She wished she never read that book.
She wished she could go back to that boring provincial life. But LanLan knew that you can't wish something into existence.
Knowing that didn't stop her repeating her wishes as she sobbed all throughout the night.
When the maid waked LanLan up, both her and the maid scrambled in fright. LanLan because she forgot where she was now, and the maid because her young miss's eyes were swollen as if a bee had stung them.
The maid hurriedly left to bring some ice for her face. It couldn't be that bad right? LanLan thought to herself. It was that bad. So bad that when she went down even after icing her face, she was met with laughter from her supposed brother.
" What's with your face? Why are you suddenly so ugly?" mused Ryu from the table. LanLan couldn't help but glare at him.
This person was certainly annoying.
Mrs. Bai smacked Ryu on the head, hearing his comment. "Sweetheart come and have breakfast," Mrs. Bai gently led her to sit on the table.
LanLan awkwardly sat there and picked up her spoon to start eating. Her stomach rumbled, and being a natural foodie in her past life, she was joyously looking at all the food infront of her.
Genuine Chinese food! Yay!
As she was about to dig in, a man suddenly walks inside the dining room. LanLan felt the room tense, and she looked up only to meet the eyes of an older Chinese man staring at her impassively. What the? Why does he look at me like this?
" Are you not gonna greet your father?" The Chinese man spoke, to, me? LanLan thought.
Father? Father! Ay, father! Mr. Bai, Bai LanLan's father.
Mrs. Bai stood up and gently laid a hand on Mr. Bai " Honey, you know she lost her memory." Mr. Bai looked at her, " and you didn't inform her who I was?" he said accusingly.
Mrs. Bai shook her head. " I was worried she'd be overwhelmed. The doctor told me to gently introduce her to things."
" So she has no idea how much of a problem she's created?" Mr. Bai turned to LanLan " You girl, I am your father, you best remember that and respect me from now on."
Mr. Bai said sternly and sat on the head of the table, to LanLan's left. " Honey!" Scolds Mrs. Bai, glaring at him. Mr. Bai does not acknowledge her, instead opening the morning news paper infront of him and started reading.
LanLan is now sweating bullets. Ai, to be the receiving end of that cold gaze.
Is Bai LanLan really his daughter? And what problems did Bai LanLan create? So many things were on her mind, she didn't notice that her eating speed was getting faster and faster.
The Bai Family, as well as the employees watch as their young mistress wield her chopsticks with precision, agility and speed.
Seeing her daughter be so lively, Mrs. Bai was joyful and also ate heartily. Bai Ryu also not to be out done, started reaching towards more dishes too. By the time Mr. Bai put down his news paper more than half of the food on the table has disappeared.
He stares at his family in shock, seeing them eat so energetically he too, began reaching for some dishes.
The breakfast concluded with parents being satisfied, and siblings having stomachaches.
LanLan did not consider that this body might not be so used to eating so much food. She was just so nervous. Bai Ryu was competing with his sister, so he ate too much too. Both of them were offered constipation medicine, and both of them took it.
LanLan was about to head upstairs to "her room," when Mr. Bai called out to her.
" Since you're awake now, you need to go back to school."
Mrs. Bai looked like she had complaints against this statement, but was given a look by Mr. Bai.
" Because of you accident, you have already missed 3 months of school. You can't afford to delay any longer." After saying this, Mr. Bai went to go work in the Bai Corporation.
Mrs. Bai held her hands and comforted her. " Don't worry, even though you may not remember everything, you will do fine. You're a Bai, no one would dare bully my daughter." Mrs. Bai looked like she was assuring herself more than anything. LanLan just nodded in agreement.
Ryu suddenly put an arm over her shoulder drawing her close. " And even if you've gone stupid and ugly, since you're my blood, I'll look out for you my little sis." He says with a bright grin.
His comments though gets him pinches from Mrs. Bai.
Mrs. Bai sent me upstairs with a maid to get ready for school. Since Bai LanLan is 15 she should be in tenth to eleventh grade already. Which means she'll be graduating highschool soon. LanLan actually gets excited for school.
It's been so long, she remembers having so much fun in her past life as a highschooler. Though the Philippines may not be a 1st world country, but their education system ensured fun and learning. Well, until highschool atleast.
LanLan is actually looking forward towards this development!
