For several months LanLan became busy. Truly, with the backing of the Bai family, finding instructors was as easy as breathing. LanLan figured some would even apply if not for the fact that LanLan wanted to keep it hushhush.
Mrs. Bai had strict requirements for LanLan's instructors, and seeing her eagerness, LanLan left the choosing to her. In any cases, she was born and lived as an aristocrat, she would know better.
LanLan's etiquette teacher was from a family that was part of the royal family in the last dynasty. She is a very strict woman named Tang Liyue. She taught LanLam with the grace of a princess, and an enthusiasm of a drill sergeant.
LanLan felt her joints creaking from the perfect posture she had to always hold. Mrs. Tang corrected her back ever so often with a long ruler. In the middle of the lessons LanLan really wanted to cry and then slouch on her seat.
She was very determined though, and seeing the judgment from the woman's eyes when LanLan asked to learn from the basics fired her up even more.
The placement of her feet and hands when she sits were learned. Her eating motions were corrected. Her walk, and basically every movement was learned.
LanLan didn't notice it, but the way she held herself became very graceful, there was a certain peace that she held herself, as if nothing could move her.
Her teacher noticed though, and her judgemental thoughts quickly turned into an eagerness to polish this rough stone into a diamond.
LanLan's speech, and even the way she made eye contact was also learned. In LanLan's opinion though, as a sassy Filipino inside, she doubts she'll really unlearn street speech.
LanLan's music lessons were also taken at the same time with her etiquette lessons. In contrast to her etiquette lessons, her music lessons were very... freeing?
Her music instructor was a young easygoing man named Fa Nolan. A Chinese-American who recently moved to China. He was very handsome too, and LanLan had to catch herself sometimes from staring too much.
LanLan was actually very worried about the music lesson, it was because she's never had any training in any instrument before. But she found that her body or rather Bai LanLan's body moved instinctually, automatically sometimes, and that she learned every quickly.
And she enjoyed her music classes so much that she improved at a very fast rate. From barely playing twinkle star to playing Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata without any difficulty. Fa Nolan was very impressed at her rate of improvements.
And as for her academics, well for an overachiever like LanLan there was no hitch there. The teacher's were very surprised and very happy about this development. Although Bai LanLan wasn't a bad student, she was rather unmotivated. She was either not paying attention, or doing something else in class.
They couldn't actually do anything though, because she performed well enough.
But now Bai LanLan was eager to learn, enthusiastic even. Asking questions after every class. The teachers all talked about it happily.
LanLan's schoolmates were very weirded out about her, to say the least. Bai LanLan always had been intense, but now there was a certain determined air around her.
As if she had a mission and had every fiber of her being is focused on achieving it. To be very honest was...HOT ♡(灬º‿º灬)♡. A beauty will still be a beauty whatever her state.♥
A picture was posted in the school Weibo page. Gaining 15k likes from students, alumni and passer-by. The post was titled " Princess Bai beautiful even in frowning. " And it was a picture of Bai LanLan reading books in the classroom with her brows furrowed.
It was a slightly blurry shot, but since the face was high quality it didn't diminish her gorgeousness at all.
*Ayy, it was a shame I already graduated when she came. My brother tells me that she's more beautiful up close.
* if I had this face I would post 100 times a day on my page.
* This is from the Bai family princess right? A face truly deserving of her lifestyle. This user has been blessed.
* Isn't she kind of standoffish though? She always acts like she's better than everyone else.
~* Ayy user from upstairs, she's literally a Bai, what she IS better than half of the population at least.
~** I don't know, i believe that everyone should be treated the same. We should be fair.
~*** While your comment have merits, but take a look at her life, that face, and then take a look at your life and your face. Do you see fairness? Some people are just born in a different league, there's nothing wrong with that. While a heated debate started online, and the post continue to climb in likes. LanLan as a former Filipino had no idea of a school Weibo page existing, nor any idea of Weibo at all. So she was naturally oblivious to everything.
LanLan's goal was to be within Top 50 after all. And though the academy only had 200 10th graders, achieving this was no mean an easy feat. This was an elite school after all, money was not the only requirement to be admitted.
And so LanLan's head was buried book after book. Fu Xioazen admired her very much, and she too began to study. LanLan's focus and fighting spirit unknowingly sparked a fire in her classmates too. The gossipy kids before would be too ashamed to talk, seeing almost everyone seriously studying.
Ryu came during break and he was shocked. It was as if he entered monastery. The air around was solemn and serious. Everyone was reading books, or doing work exercise books. He was even more shocked of his sister actually being one of the students studying.
Ryu knew his sister had somehow changed. He watched some of her classes, and he was impressed with how fast she learned and improved. His sister always went home tired, having her meals delivered to her room. But somehow, she has never with luxury, nor when they took her to different places in the world. But now, though she was often frowning] no longer gloomy.
Since my baby sister is so determined in her studies, I too should do better in mine. Ryu , leaving LanLan's class to go and study. He didn't really need to, after all Bai Riyuu was consistently place in the top 10 in the academy since he was a first year.
LanLan found that she couldn't understand one of the formulas in her workbook. Math had always been her weakness. " Fu Xioazen" she turned to her seatmate. " Call me Xioazen." Fu Xioazen reminded. " Ai Xioazen, do you know how to solve this one?" LanLan asked pointing to the particular formula.
" Hmmm not really, eh? Why are you studying that already, that's supposed to be Grade 12 lessons.'
" Is it? I grabbed this book in the library, it was under Grade 11."
" Ey, maybe someone put it wrongly. Seriously, they need to stop doing that."
" That's okay, I'll just grab another one, that book your holding is the one we're supposed to study right?"
" Yes, do you want me to go with you?''
" No I'll be quick."
" I'll wait for you here, hurry there's 25 minutes left before our next class."
"Em"
LanLan stood up and headed for the library.
A/N:
I'm currently on vacation, like "vacation vacation." It still amazes me how beautiful the island's of the Philippines are, and I'm a Filipino living here all my life. Even with the threat of sunburn I'm going to go to the beach at every chance.
