A few months later...LanLan has finally graduated her "noblewoman classes," her etiquette teacher praising her now natural elegant demeanor, considering her to be sufficiently taught. Her music teacher told her that she has already superseded her skills in piano, and though she was no professional, she would never embarrass herself in any event or context. Her other classes lime equestrian, chess, and calligraphy teacher all told her the same. She can take these classes casually from now on. It was now time for her to level up, and LanLan knows just what is next for her.
Talking with her mother, she has hired teachers for accountancy, for the arts, dancing, singing painting, and the class she was most giddy about, literature.
These classes may seem so random, bur are all within reason. Accountancy so she can learn to manage her money. The arts because she wishes to pursue a career on those. And literature, for her love of reading.
You might wonder, why the heck would I consider a career in the arts right? But hey, in my previous life it was I wanted to take but had issues financially. Now I no longer have to think what would bring me the most money, naturally, I'd want to go with what I'm passionate about.
LanLan you see is quite multi-talented in the arts back in her previous life. She could sing, dance, act, write and speak quite well. She was also a natural leader. But coming from an average middle class family, with only her mother to support her. She could not develop her talents further. Now she has all the resources she needed, she'll make sure to polish her skill sharper than a sword.
And so the days passed like that, LanLan living this other life as best as she can.
Fast forward to the ending to the semester.
LanLan has been studying very hard. Her teachers had been pleasantly surprised about her development. Her peers came to know that her studiousness was not a fluke at the beginning. Last examination LanLan had managed to climb to top 15 for the whole school.
Some people believe she had turned for the better, this Bai princess. While some was still indignant, believing LanLan was just washing her image of that "incident" but was soon to return to her usual uncaring arrogance.
LanLan did not care for these, or most other things really. Her life was in full swing, and she was enjoying every moment of it. She was not effortless about her studies, but as she had the foundation of a college student, naturally her time management and working under pressure was impeccable.
" LanLan, where are you going this new years?" Fu Xiaozen asks, making LanLan lift her head up from an exercise book. Ah, she recalled there was only one month left of classes before the finals, and new years would soon come. Making her stay in this world almost half a year already.
" I don't have plans yet." she answered, feeling a bit melancholic. It would be nice to visit the Philippines, the new years there are incredibly festive.
" My family plans to go to City A, for their hotsprings. City A is also known for their new year festivals." Fu Xiaozen proceeds to show her her phone currently opened on Baidu (the google of China).
" That does look quite fun." LanLan remarked seeing all the pictures of lighted lanterns, and people dressed up in Chinese traditional clothing.
" Ah! If you don't have plans yet, why not just come with us?" Fu Xiaozen exclaims excitedly. LanLan thought about it, " I'm not too sure, my family might have something planned." She mused, she seemed to recall her brother searching and muttering about plans of going to one of their villa's in some province for new years.
"Awww, it would have been fun to celebrate it with you. But new years should be celebrated with family so I won't insist." Fu Xiaozen concedes, he visage like a bunny drooping it's ears.
LanLan looks at the slightly pouty girl and fought the urge to laugh, nudging her, she smiles at her friend " Ey, Xioazen bring me souvenirs instead. A lantern would be nice, I've never seen those traditionally made before." Fu Xiaozen as expected brightens up and gets excited over selecting the perfect lantern to bring back, asking LanLan all sorts of questions for her preference.
But as a Filipino woman, she's actually never even seen an authentic chinese lantern, any lantern would be nice. The lanterns in the Philippines are pretty nice too, though they're primarily used for christmas decor.
When LanLan went home, as expected her brother finally brought up his plans for the new years. " The villa is on a hill so it would be nice to set up chairs and tables outside to watch the fireworks over the city. We can set off our own too." Riku chatters about at dinner.
" But dear don't you think it's also doable to do all that here, or even better just go to another country? I quite like how hawaii is this time of the year." Mother suggests to him.
"No, definitely not, the lights here at the capital are too bright to see fireworks properly, not to mention, we can't set off our own, just viewing the fireworks the government sets off will be boring for sure. " Riku counters. " And no going out of the country, you know they don't celebrate chinese new years like we chinese do, which makes sense but that's besides the point. Any how we must celebrate outside of the capotal but in the country."
LanLan elegantly chows down on her food, uninterested with the conversation. She has no opinions, she's never been anywhere other than school and her house, ah, she had been at that hospital too. Whether she spends the new year here or there it'll be a novelty nonetheless, as such she's fine with whatever.
The two seemed to also get her vibe, so they discussed amongst themselves and concluded that going to the villa was the plan for the new years. LanLan has still no thoughts for it, more importantly, she still needs to ace her finals. All that hard work on midterms will be for nothing if she does not climb or maintain her place this time.
And so, LanLan was even more fired up. Burning with the passion of study, more than she had ever had even in her original life and body. Maybe having less financial problems and the emotional burden they bring let's her focus? Being rich sure is nice.
And ace her tests she did. She climbed up two places this time much to the enjoyment of her family, and Xiaozen. And before she knows it, her things were being packed, she was whisked into a car, into a plane before she processed everything.
Oh, she actually still does not know where they're going. They kept talking about "the villa" but LanLan had no idea their family actually only owns one villa and the rests are courtyards. She had no emotional burden about this however, she came to another world, what's going to another city?
If she knew what trouble it'd bring her in the future though, LanLan would have fought her way out of that private plane.A/N:
