Chapter 17 How have you been?

I fluttered my eyes. I definitely should stop drinking vodka. I stretched my arms a bit and sat up on the bed.
But then reality struck me.
This isn't my hotel.

"No...no...no...this can't fucking happen!" I freaked

I heard a man talking downstairs. No this shouldn't have happened.

"Did I sleep with some..." before I could think anything else tears rolled down on my cheeks.

My feet felt numb and I sat down on the floor with my back to the bed.

I remembered Seb's face...I feel so shameful.

"I ruined everything...I—" I was cut of by the sound of footsteps approaching.

I was terrified. My breath hitched and the door opened.

I saw a woman coming in, "Meu deus! What happened? Why are you crying?" she asked crouching to me.

"I...who are... Did I sleep..." I couldn't form words, just tears falling.

"Ay April, don't get worried. You are fine... you were passed out while you were brought here." She tried to comfort me.

"Brought? What do you mean by it? Did you bring—" I asked her curiously but was cut off by her,

"No, no, it wasn't me, it was Ne—, he is a good person, I'm his housekeeper " she smiled

"His? Did I come here with your boss?" I looked down at myself, I was wearing a grey short and a black tshirt. Oh no!
"Did we...did..." I looked at her questioningly and started crying more.

"Ay April it's not like what you're thinking! Look at me" she said placing a hand on my arms.

I couldn't think of anything else and I moved my knees closer to my chest and buried my head in my arms and sobbed.

"April, look at me, por favor" she raised my head with her hands

I looked at her and I didn't know what to do and at that moment I hugged her.

She was not expecting this but later on she hugged me back.

"Shhh, I got you, and April, nothing happened between you both, he brought you here because you were already asleep and he didn't want to wake you." She cooed and I pulled myself back and looked at her.

"And he slept downstairs, I stayed the night here. Now, por favor calm down April" she gave a weak smile.

"Thanks a lot. I'm so lucky I came back with your boss... and you are...?"  I asked her.

"Sou Maria." She said while making me stand.

"Thanks Maria, I'll never forget this"

"Ay April it's fine. You can take a shower and I'll prepare your breakfast" she chimed

"Uhhh...Maria... Can I ask where your boss is? I mean I want to thank him."

"Ay...." she was thinking about something.

"Please, I would just thank him, and if you're thinking that if I'll cause trouble then it's not like that. I'll leave the moment I thank him" I tried to explain her my reasons.

"Ay no April! I have known many girls, but never one like you. You seem like a good person"

"Thanks Maria."

"Por favor get a shower, I brought you a jeans short and a tshirt, it will look  comfortable than you last night's dress"

"Maria you are doing so much for a stranger, how could I even repay this?"

"By taking a shower quickly and joining us for breakfast" she grinned and let out a laugh.

I laughed, "sure I'll be down."

I took a shower and wore the clothes Maria brought me. While I was heading down, I was thinking who that person could be?
I mean he could have taken advantage of me but instead he made sure that I was comfortable. God bless that man. I'm glad  he took me with him.

I was now standing at the last stair so I called Maria asking where she is, and she called me to the kitchen.

I went to the kitchen and froze at the sight,

"Olà" he chimed with his perfect smile.

I felt tears forming in my eyes, and a smile crept on my lips, "How have you been?" I asked him.
