Katoria Halim
"Dad! Dad! Daddy!" I screamed while crying as we hugged each other. I was crying so hard and I didn't even care about the people watching."I missed you princess." He said kissing my forehead. For the first time in a long time, I felt genuinely happy. This has to be the best early birthday gift I've ever had.
Tasha Waters
Seeing her cry over him made me realize that I lost her, and I failed. Kennon looked at me and shook his head."Ma, look! It's dad! He's back!" Katoria said looking at me. She's never looked at me. People were still staring at us, so I told her to come where I was. She pulled Kennon over too and he was staring at me coldly.
"Aren't you happy he's back?! He's back, Ma!" She said smiling hard.
"Tasha, I think we need to talk to her, now!" He said with so much venom, making me cringe.
"What's going on?" Katoria asked.
An hour later, we were at the house sitting on opposite couches. Katoria was in Kennon's lap, hugging him and I was on another couch. I felt so isolated and left out.
"Dad, why are you and mom staring at each other like that?" Katoria asked. He looked at her and his eyes softened.
"There's something I need to let you know about your Mother.
"Kennon." I warned.
"No, Tasha! She needs to know! Princess, your mother is a low down dirty ass dog. She's been keeping you away from me ever since I was locked away. You know why you never get my letters? She hides them from you! She didn't even want you to know I was getting out soon, because she's selfish! Princess, all your letters, I have them in my truck right now. I love you, and I drew pictures of you everyday. Your mom doesn't want us to have a bond!" He said and I saw Katoria sigh and shake her head.
"Is all that true?"
"Yes, but-"
"But nothing, Ma! I hate you!" She got up and charged at me but Kennon stopped her.
"That's still your mother, Princess. You cannot and will not disrespect her, even though she doesn't deserve respect." He said and they both looked at me with that cold look. I couldn't take it anymore, and I broke down crying.
"Once I find a place to stay, you can come stay with me." I heard him say to her.
"Okay, I love you Dad."
"I love you too, Princess. I told you it wouldn't work Tasha."
