Marlon Halim
"Alexus." I said popping up behind her. She was talking to her friends in the halls. She turned and looked at me. Her friends left.

"What Marlon?" She asked crossing her arms.

"It's over." I said and she got wide eyed, like she was about to cry.

"What? Why? Marlo-"

"Fuck anything you 'bout to say 'cause I know you been fuckin' with that nigga, Alexus. I hope he do yo' dumb ass dirty again and when he does, don't come runnin' back to me." I said. I still had feelings for her, but I'll just have to get over that shit because she ain't about to do this to me.

"Okay, I made a mistake. I'm sorry, Marlo. All this time we been together and you just wanna throw that away?"

"It's your fault it's coming to this so don't say that shit like that! Look, it's over and that's that and you can save them fucking tears, too." I said and walked off as the bell ring. I know it's gone take a nigga a while to get over her, but it's something I just gotta do.

When I sat down in first period, I texted Katoria. She was the perfect person to vent to and it's crazy because she's two years younger than me. I guess she's in my life for a reason.

Katoria Halim
"Why are we having a pep rally again?" I asked 'Kiyia. She shook her head and laughed.

"It's our last football game. This game determines if we go to the playoffs." She said as we walked to the auditorium.

"Oh, well I might have to work anyway. You know my schedule crazy."

"Girl, yes I know. At least you be on your shit, getting paid extra and all."

"The extra money come from training new employees."

"I know, I gotta train two new people this weekend." She said. 'Kiyia worked at Sunflower, a grocery store.

"Hopefully, I get the day off. I wanna get shirts made for Xae." I said thinking about what would be on them besides his number, which was fourteen.

"I love the way you support him. It's like y'all brother and sister."

"I guess I latch on to them so hard because I'm an only child and I've always been lonely."

We walked into the auditorium and found seats. The cheerleaders were lined up on stage and so were the school's majorettes and other groups.

The pep rally started and it was boring me honestly, so I texted Darren to pass time.

I closed my messages app and started to listen to our principal.

Hours later, I was at home with Darren on the porch. We were eating sunflower seeds.

"Babe." I called out.

"Wassup?"

"You going on prom this year?"

"I been thinking about it."

"So that's a yea? Okay." I said and smiled. He laughed and shook his head.

"You such a character. C'mere." He said and I got out of my chair and sat in his lap with my back facing him. He pulled out his phone and we took a few selfies, but I didn't like them.

"I look rough and I'm still in school clothes."

"Shit, barely. You better not wear these shorts no more." He said and pulled on the hem of them.

"Stop, and I do what I wanna do. How many times do I have to remind you?" I asked playfully. I heard him smack his lips and he started to tickle me.

"You gone stop getting that lil attitude with me." He said kissing my neck once he stopped. I blushed because I was wet now.

"That feels so good, but I think you forgot we were outside." I said. He smacked his lips and just held me.

"One day, you gone be begging me to keep going."
