"Don't get irritated with me. You can't expect me to know this sort of stuff." Her temper got the best of her, sick of his bullshit. She started walking away, the sound of her footsteps echoing in the empty Hall when she was suddenly turned around. Tessa ripped her hand out of Ominis' grasp with anger fueling her. "What?"

He took a step towards her, his anger feeding off hers greedily. "You don't understand how much danger you're in right now."

"From you or your family." She retorted, glaring. Tessa felt the adrenaline of a fight or flight response taking hold of her as Ominis stood in front of her.

His lip curled, "Obviously my family Cauldwell."

"And who's fault is that, Gaunt?"

"Ours." He tilted her chin up, "Mine for allowing you to be so close to me. And yours for being so infatuated with me."

Tessa narrowed her eyes, "Infatuated? I hate you."

He smirked. "I hate you too."

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

Ominis and Tessa met the Sallow twins in the Undercroft after their heated exchange. To her disappointment, an exchange of words was the only heated aspect. No stolen kisses. Nothing.

The Slytherin had been the one to walk away first this time, the smirk he wore lasting until they entered the secret room. He knew she wanted more because the feeling was mutual. But he was still intent on making her regret her decision the night on the stairwell.

Anne must have told Sebastian about the incident because they sat side by side on the couch opposite the one her and Ominis had been on a few days ago. A knowing look was plastered across Sebastian's face as he looked at his best friend with amusement. That amusement soon morphed into worry remembering what had just occurred in the Hall.

Ominis sat next to her, giving them the full explanation of the Opal necklace and the sinister curse it contained.

"Why does your family have something like that?" Anne inquired looking at everyone for validation. She couldn't have been the only one incredulous about it all.

Sebastian settled back into the couch, placing the book he had been reading on his lap. "Are you joking? That's tame for the Gaunts and you know it."

A bemused expression fell on Ominis. "You're not wrong."

"What does this mean for Tessa? Is she in danger since the attack failed?" Anne was asking the important questions and Tessa was thankful for it because not even she had thought about that.

"The Ministry will be questioning my family about it once it's reported by Weasley or Hecat." Ominis replied with another sigh, "Then because of the connections my family has, they'll be let off with a slap on the wrist. I would say it buys us a few months."

Tessa snorted inwardly. "A few months? Your family's generosity astounds me."

"What was your boggart again?" She stilled and he quickly backtracked, "Not that I would know."

Anne looked between Ominis and Tessa with a question in her eyes, but decided it best not to ask. She changed the subject, "Did you still want to pull that prank tonight?"
