"I'm sorry." Ominis whispered, placing a hand on the stone and tracing the letters of her name with the tips of his fingers. "Your daughter grew up to be someone you can be incredibly proud of. She's smart. She makes me laugh and Merlin-her attitude. Did she get that from you?" He smiled, biting the inside of his cheek to stop a grin. "She grew up to be a hard worker, though-it makes me upset that she never had a Christmas surrounded by people who loved her and to be able to enjoy it. I intend to change that this year when we go to Feldcroft together. I can't take back what I did, but I can promise to take care of her. I'll protect her with my life and make sure she's happy for the rest of our lives together. I promise to love her and treat her with the utmost respect even when she's being a total pain in my arse."

Tessa nudged him, smiling through the tears. "I miss you mom. I wish you could have met my friends and Ominis. I hope that you've found peace and you're happy. I love you."

A warm breeze rushed past them, but the trees didn't shake. There was no other wind in the otherwise calm, quiet night. The smell of tulips suddenly tickled their noses and Tessa's smile grew as Ominis placed a kiss on the side of her head. Her mother had heard them. And it seemed that she had given them her blessing for a long and happy life together.

They left not long after, but rather than go back to Hogwarts, they both decided to stay at an Inn for the night. It was after midnight. Tessa wasn't sure why she felt shy when Ominis only asked for one room, but honestly she was thankful for it. She didn't want to be alone after finding out her mother died years ago. At the hands of her father no less.

The room was small and quaint. There was a bed large enough for two people, but even then they'd have to squish close to fit on it. The walls were a brown wooden color and the floor the same. Only an area rug in the center of the room that was beige gave it color. There was a single mahogany desk with a chair, a small wardrobe, and the room had costed extra to have a connecting room meant for bathing room. Ominis set down their bags and kicked the door shut, ensuring to lock it. He even placed a protection charm just in case.

"Do you want to bathe first?" He inquired, sitting down at the chair to untie his boots.

Tessa peered into the other room to see white tiled floor, a free standing porcelain tub, and a toilet with a sink in the corner. The water was steaming indicating that the Inn staff had prepared the room for them with that intention.

She bit her lip nervously, "There's a tub. Do you want to bath together?"

"Together?" Ominis tilted his head mulling over her words as he untied his other boot. "Can we both fit?"

It took a bit of maneuvering, but they did indeed fit. Ominis sat down first and leaned his back against the tub as Tessa got in, sitting down before laying her back against his chest. He wrapped his arms around her naked waist, twirling a piece of her long dark brown hair around his finger absently. His heartbeat was steady and it helped to calm her. In this moment, there was nothing sexual about what was occurring, but the simple fact that she just wanted to be close to him. It was a new level of intimacy.

"Galleon for your thoughts?" He asked her.

Tessa sighed with a frown. "You'd be wasting money. It's mostly blank. For the past few weeks I feel that it's been one thing after another with no breaks in between. Right here with you is the first time I feel like I can breathe."
