"Time is the wisest of all things that are, for it brings everything to light." - Thales
—Destiny Eclipse: Day of Ruin—
Nessus refuses to be darkened when the night comes. The radiolaria scattered across the planet, inside or out, brighten it like a lightbulb.
At least, the Warlock named Pariah, can see clearly at all hours of the day.
She's been on Nessus for a long time. Not because she is stranded, but because she had a single purpose.
She walks across the planet's red surface, quiet and tired. Another day with no luck. Another day wasted searching for what could be a dead end.
As she travels back home, she looks out at the falling sun. It was barely considered a sun.
"Am I wasting my days?" She asks herself silently. Yet, she keeps walking home, into the old rusting destruction of the Exodus Black.
The Fallen that were stranded on Nessus have almost all died out by now, or hitched a ride with Guardians to the Last City.
Anytime she saw one, she saw a creature alone and afraid, trying to survive. Just like her, but she had a choice. They did not.
As she climbs into the Exodus Black, she looks back at the dark sun finally settling down under the horizon.
"Are you awake?" She speaks out loud in a dark chamber.
The lights flicker on, revealing her home. There were Vex parts everywhere, food storage, weapons, and a cot.
In the center of her home, was Failsafe, fitted into a Vex body. Yet she wasn't entirely finished, and was plugged into the wall.
"I am always awake, Captain!" Failsafe picks up her head.
Pariah stops to stare at her monstrous creation.
"You still need work." She says.
"Obviously." Failsafe replies in her "less trying voice".
"I brought food." Pariah pulls out two crustacean looking creatures from her bag.
"Do you forget I don't have a mouth?" Failsafe responds.
Pariah looks up at her.
"Do you want to at least sit with me?"
"Yes!"
Pariah takes off her helm and sets it aside. She was a little pale with dark hair that went down to her neck.
She unplugs Failsafe and carries her over to a window with two chairs, setting her down in one of them.
As Pariah begins to prepare her meal, Failsafe looks out of the window with her one shattered eye.
