5 - Boffin

Dex writhed in his sleep.

"Dexter! Don't leave me! Please!!" The voice of Katya echoed behind him.

He looks back, his armor destroyed, his chassis burned.

He then looks in front of him, at the bright light of the outside.

He can't leave her.

He runs towards the fire, pushing past it, ignoring the burns.

"Dexter!!"

He then sees her, a metal beam pushed into her chest.

"Oh Katya...."

Katya wearily looks over at him.

"You left me...."

"No no! I didn't!"

"Dex...."

Pariah looks down at him sleeping. He was mumbling to himself. She decides to slap him.

"What the hell?" It worked.

"We're here." She said.

"Where?"

Pariah opened up a window, showing him the massive space station in the distant space.

Suddenly, the comms on Pariah's cockpit goes off. She runs to it.

"Unidentified ship, this is Station Zero, state your business."

"We...were told to come here, we have some Vex data to give you. Lady Ghost sent us."

"Oh....sure. Come into the docking bay."

Pariah and Dex glance at eachother, then pulled into the Station's docking bay.

When they exited the ship, there was no one around.

"Hello?" Dex yelled out.

Suddenly, a Frame appeared out of nowhere.

"Hello! I am Keyhole!"

Pariah and Dex look at eachother.

"Keyhole?"

"Yes, that is my name. Please come this way."

Pariah and Dex follow Keyhole into the Station.

If they were to be honest, it was quite unsettling.

"What are they working on here?" Dex asks.

"Dr. Lucas and Dr. Isaac are the only organic beings on this station. They are attempting creation of the greatest energy source man will ever make."

"And what is that?"

Keyhole then opens the door to an observation deck, and before them lied a massive room, and in it was a golden and bright ball of stable Light Energy.

"Light Energy!" Keyhole says.

Dex and Pariah look at it in awe.

"Please come, the Doctors have been expecting you."

They all enter an elevator, leading to the lobby of the Inner Lab, where Dr. Lucas and Dr. Isaac were waiting.

"You're here. Finally." Dr. Lucas said, shaking their hands.

"I'm Dr. Lucas, and this is my partner Dr. Isaac."

Pariah and Dex wave awkwardly at them.

"Do you have the Vex Data?"

"Uh..yeah." Pariah hands him the device placed on Clank.

Lucas examines it.

"I always appreciated Camille's tech." He says.
