As Zeke meandered through the corridors, a soft tune escaped his lips, filling the air with a peaceful melody. His gaze drifted over the family portraits adorning the walls, lingering on each before moving on. Finally, his eyes settled on the portrait of Eren, the youngest sibling, his beloved brother. The painting captured Eren's youthful features, his expression was modest, and his eyes lacked sparkle. A faint wave of sadness washed over Zeke, knowing that this portrait had been created in honor of their late mother's tenth death anniversary. It was a difficult time for all of them, particularly for Eren, who was only seventeen. Though Zeke didn't like to dwell on the past, his memories of that period were still vivid.
"Eren... I hope you listen to me long and well, brother. I hope to the gods that Venus will not be harmed. Do not be a fool like me, Eren, and take Father's word..." As Zeke moved away from the painting, he muttered a few words under his breath. The eyes of the artwork seemed to track his movements, almost as if they were seeking some form of direction or advice from him. In the hallway, Zeke's eyes caught sight of an ajar door, beckoning him towards it. The inviting scent of old books wafted to his nose as he approached. With a curious peek, he beheld the vast expanse of the library, a sea of knowledge and adventure. And there, amidst the shelves and stacks, stood Captain Levi, a formidable man with a stern countenance who had been reading an assortment of literature. Despite his imposing presence, Zeke couldn't help but greet him with a wide grin, eager to irritate the short man with his presence. "WELL IF IT ISN'T MIDGET MAN!"
"By the gods of Eldia..." Levi shut his book and looked towards the approaching blond. "Must you refer to me as a midget?"
"Well your not much of a beanstalk now are you?"
"Dealing with one Yeager was enough, now I must consult with the dumber and older one? What a joy." Zeke laughed at Levi and patted his back.
"Do not be so harsh with me Captain Midget! I am only poking fun." Levi sighed and turned away.
"And you wonder why your brother has his eyes out for your death."
"Oh, he would never kill me!" Zeke thought for a moment and looked at Levi. "I'm confident?" Levi cast a discerning gaze toward Zeke, prompting a weary sigh to escape his lips. "Whatever, he is my brother."
"Half- brother."
"Must you bring that up, midget man? Don't you have a stool to step on, perhaps two?" Levi couldn't help but chuckle at that jab and shrugged.
"I bring it up for reasons, and no, it is not to hurt the bond you and your brother have."
"What for then?" Levi looked to Zeke and shrugged once more.
"I am in no capabilities to speak on such things."
"Ah... I see. PERHAPS A SUBJECT CHANGE!" Levi snapped his fingers.
"This is a library Zeke, not a battle ground."
"Prude. Fine then. How's your love life been? I am sure a small runt like yourself has trouble making love with women."
"I am not a man whore like you Zeke." Levi chuckled and shook his head as he began to speak."Unfortunately for you, Zeke, I am happily married."
"MARRIED?! YOU SPEAK LIES MIDGET." Levi did not respond and walked away. He stood by the door and pulled his glove off to flash his wedding ring at Zeke.
"See? Now then, I will be on my way. I must not keep my wife waiting. Do tell if Erwin comes back to the castle after his expedition I have battle plans to discuss with him."
"Tch... fine."
"One more thing." Levi slipped his glove back on. "The only way you can even remotely speak that way towards me is because you are royalty. I would have kicked every tooth out of your mouth if you weren't royal blood."
