Love, Catherine
CHAPTER 10
___________________Third Person's POV
On the floor of the cozy living room, Sandra was curled up with a book. She gripped the book in her hands while crouching with her legs crossed. Catherine was across the room, moving the items from an old box with care. Each one contains an old recollection of hers.
Catherine remembered the things they have done, the happy moments they shared with her and Cate; lahat ay nakakatuwang balikan.
"Do people always fall in love with things they can't have?," ani Sandra.
Catherine looked at her and smile before continuing what she's doing.
"Always"
Sandra rolled her eyes saka ibinaba ang hawak nitong libro.
"You got it again! Catherine, how did you do that?," Sandra asked with an awe on her face. She read a passage from the book and nahulaan ni Catherine ang sagot ng protagonist.
"The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith," Catherine answered. "That's my favorite book back in the days. Itinatago ko pa yan kay daddy dahil I'm sure pagagalitan niya ako," she continued.
"If this was your favorite book, what happened in the end?," Sandra asked.
"I don't know," maiksi niyang tugon.
"Ang sabi mo, this was your favorite book. Then how come na hindi mo alam ang ending?," Sandra questioned Catherine.
"I-I didn't finish it," Catherine looked down as if she was embarassed by her words then raise her head to give Sandra a quick smile.
"Bakit?"
Suddenly, Catherine's eyes welled up with tears as she struggled to keep them back. But she couldn't keep the sad memories of the past from coming back to her.
"I fell inlove with someone I didn't end up into just like Carol with Therese. I know that was tragic and ayokong madagdagan pa ang sakit na nararamdaman ko that time. But now, there's nothing to lose. I don't want you to lose," malungkot niyang wika.
Sandra rose from her seat and hugged Catherine. A hug that she knew Catherine would need at the moment. She fell in love with her the moment she set eyes on her at the Villa. Catherine became the center of her entire life, and she would do anything to maintain her happiness. Maybe Sandra has no idea of what is she or what are they but her love for her was pure. Her passion knew no limitations, and she would go to tremendous lengths to satisfy her in any manner possible.
Catherine drove back alone to the villa. When she finally arrived at her room, she noticed a white folder on the floor. Aside from the document, may isa pa siyang napansin.
"I heard, they're looking for her"
After Catherine read the unsettling note, her heart pounding with panic. Her eyes began to cry, and her hands began to tremble. She felt as though she was being choked by fear as the threat weighed heavily on her chest. Trembling, she tried to go outside her house to look for a familiar face but nothing. She's wondering HOW? The fear of loosing Sandra. He did that before sa unang pag-ibig nito kay Gillian and maybe he can do that to her again.
