Wren's POV

The green haired person grabbed my hand and led me out of the room, barely giving me any time to send a frustrated look with Derek. We walked around and passed dancing bodies, up a hallway to were a set of doors lined the walls. The green haired person opened one of the doors, and led me over the threshold. They shut the door behind us, locking it. I stepped forwards,
"Wait. I'm sorry, but this isn't why I am here. And I didn't even get your name."

The green haired person hesitated, their fingers brushing through the end of their pale braided hair.
"You can call me Kiwi." They answered finally, their voice quiet and soft, like a falling petal in a warm, sweet spring breeze. I smiled slightly as the sound of their voice hit my ears. It was calming, and almost like a soft melody.
I drummed my gloved fingers against my thighs, curious.

"What pronouns do you use, Kiwi?" I asked quietly, a small smile curling the edges of my lips.
Again, they hesitated. It seemed evident that Kiwi wasn't often asked questions about themselves.
"I'm Genderfluid, so my pronouns change daily. But my pronouns for today are He/Him." Kiwi whispered, his lush green and rich brown eyes flickering to the ground. After a moment, Kiwi's eyes raised back to mine. Green and brown against ice blue.

Kiwi walked forwards, holding my gaze evenly. He stopped when he was only a few inches from me, his warm arms wrapped around my waist. He led me over to the soft bed, pulling me onto it.

*Time skip because I don't feel like writing smut right now. Might add it in after*

Kiwi and I lay in the bed, panting. Kiwi rolled over, his gaze staring right into mine.
"Why did you come here, then?" He asked, after catching his breath.
I shifted slightly, glancing at the green haired man out of the corner of my eye.
"Well...we came here looking for Crayne. He and I have some history that I want to finally settle."

Kiwi fell silent, his gaze thoughtful. He rolled out of the bed and started to pull his clothes back on, which had been strewn across the room's floor.

I followed suit, trying not to glance at the bruises that now littered my chest and neck. We exited the room, walking in a slightly uncomfortable silence. We walked back into the main room, the music still playing and the bodies still dancing.

We met up with Derek and the girl from before. Mr. C was nowhere to be seen. Derek looked up from the floor upon hearing our arrival, his usually styled hair messy and his soft lips slightly puffy. He smiled at me awkwardly, casting a sideways glance at Kiwi, who looked away.

Derek turned his attention back to me.
"You ready to go? I don't think that we are going to get any answers out of Mr. C. Maybe another time."

I turned to follow Derek, but Kiwi stopped me, his hand gently resting on my shoulder. He leaned in next to my ear and whispered,
"I have some information on Crayne that you should know. Meet me back here tommorrow at 12:00 PM."

I nodded in understanding, the feeling of Kiwi's warm breath on my neck and cheek making goosebumps erupt all over my body. Kiwi nodded and kissed my cheek softly, making me blush furiously, before releasing me and turning around.

Mr. C had appeared, leaning ominously against the wall like a gathering thunder storm. He smiled at Kiwi, though it seemed more like he was leering.
"Hey Sweetheart." Mr. C said, greeting Kiwi with a slightly predatory smile.
He suantered up to the green haired man, who looked tense, and slung his arm around Kiwi's shoulders. Kiwi's face tightened slightly with displeasure but he remained silent, fidgeting slightly with his delicate and pale fingers. Mr. C whispered something into Kiwi's ear, and the latter turned his head away, his gaze darting down to the floor.

Derek tugged on my sleeve, making me turn. He was looking at Mr. C with utmost distaste and Loathing.
"Let's go." He murmured to me, not taking his burning gaze off of Mr. C. I nodded and followed him out of the building, my thoughts reeling.

What just happened?

I mean, at least we sort of have a lead on
Crayne

But...I just left Kiwi in there to deal with Mr. C alone

I should go back and help-

"We can't." Derek whispered to me, grabbing my gloved hand. I tilted my head in confusion until I realized that I had spoken the last thought out loud.
"Why not? Kiwi- the green haired person- is in trouble! We can't just leave him with Mr. C!" I protested, biting my lip with anxiety as thoughts of what was happening to Kiwi started to creep into my nervous mind.

Derek squeezed my hand gently as if to reassure me, his soft lips brushing against my ear.
"Baby, It'll only make things worse. Believe me."

I merely sighed in response, resting my head on Derek's shoulder. Derek let go of my hand and began to run his through my blue frosted hair.

A few moments later, Derek called a taxi on his phone, his free arm wrapped around my trembling body. We waited for it to arrive in a comfortable silence, the warm summer wind buffeting our hair.

Around ten minutes later, the taxi arrived. Derek opened the door for me and I slid in, putting on my seat belt with a quiet click. Derek sat down next to me, nodding to the driver before telling him the address of our apartment.

I gazed out the window as the scenery blurred by, my thoughts still stuck on Kiwi.

Was he okay?

Mr. C looked like a really creepy guy...

I sighed quietly, running a gloved hand through my blue frosted hair anxiously. So many worries weighed on my mind.

And he still didn't tell us anything

Kiwi really deserves a better job

And a better boss-

Derek leaned over and grabbed my hand, his smile soft as if to reassure me. It did, a little bit. But my thoughts were still laced with anxiety as the taxi car drove us back to our apartment.

When it arrived there, Derek and I hoped out of the vehicle. I waited outside, my gloved fingers tapping nervously against my thighs, as Derek payed the driver. Derek thanked the man and turned back to me, his fingers intertwining with my own as he grabbed my gloved hand.

He smiled at me gently before kissing my forehead, his free hand brushing a stray blue lock of hair behind my ear. We walked back into the building and took the elevator up to our floor. Derek opened the door for me, his free arm wrapped around my waist.

I slid off my shoes and changed into a different pair of clothes. I rolled into the hotel's bed, sinking into the soft sheets and mattress. Derek got in next to me, his limbs wrapping around my body. I sank into his warm embrace, trying to clear my mind. But it didn't work, because somewhere, Kiwi had to deal with Mr. C.
