Wren's POV:
I blinked open my eyes the next morning, staring around the darkened room. Derek's warm body lay next to me, the sheets tangled around our intertwined bodies. Derek's arm was still looped around my torso, though his embrace had loosened while we slept, his eyelid fluttered shut. His soft pink lips had parted slightly as he slept, making me want to kiss him more than ever in that moment.
Perhaps Derek felt my gaze on him, because his eyes fluttered open, the onyx black hues meeting my own. A gentle smile made its way across his face, melting my heart in the process.
"Good morning baby." He murmured quietly to me, kissing my forehead. I shifted slightly, snuggling my body even further against his. He grinned down at me, making my face heat up slightly. I groaned internally.
It's to early for me to be this flustered
Derek sat up and stretched his arms, my eyes trailing his torso as his pajama shirt rode up his body, exposing his abs.
Derek caught me looking and smirked, to which I rolled my eyes in response, trying to ignore the hot blush that was creeping up my face.I glanced at the clock that was set on the hotel's bedside table. It read 10:03. I raised my eyebrows.
"Wow, we slept late. I have to meet Kiwi in around two hours."
Derek titled his head, confused.
"Who's Kiwi?"
I suddenly found it difficult to meet Derek's gaze.Weird.
I told him about yesterday and Kiwi's message. He stared at the hotel wall thoughtfully, running a pale hand through his messy onyx black hair. After a few minutes of silence, Derek's eyes flickered back to my face.
"I'm guessing that you have to go alone?" He asked, his smile soft and almost sad.I grimaced.
"Yeah, I think so, since Kiwi doesn't really know you except for seeing you yesterday. He also just invited me, so..." I said, trailing off. Derek looked disappointed but understanding.
"Okay. That's fine, I'll go to the gym again while you're out."I smiled, kissing his pale cheek.
"That sounds great. I should probably go get dressed."
I rolled out of the wonderfully warm bed, shivering as the freezing cold air hit my skin. I padded to the bathroom, hissing softly as my warm feet touched the icy tile flooring.I closed the door behind me, glaring at my reflection in the mirror. A young man stared back, his light blue hair sticking up in odd angles with sleep. Dark stubble shadowed his jaw and cheeks, and his icy blue eyes were drooping with exhaustion.
My clothes were wrinkled from sleeping in them, still wearing the dress shirt and tie from the day before. I pulled off my shirt, flinching as the cold drafts of air reached my unprepared skin.
I wrinkled my nose as I gazed distasteful at my body. Sure, it was muscular and lean, but it was horribly pale. Green webbed veins were easily visible under my almost translucent skin.
The black nail polish that coated my fingernails was beginning to chip, and my pale eyes looked bloodshot and with heavy bags under them.
The eyeliner from the night before had smudged under my eyes, enhancing the dark circles that showed my intense exhaustion. The scars on my wrist were pale pink, shining strangely under the bathroom lights. I clenched my bare fists, my nails digging into the pale skin on my palms, leaving red, bloodied dents in my flesh. Satisfaction washed over me at the sight of the blood.
