One morning, Huckleberry Hound was setting up his new camera he got in the mail. It had all started earlier when he heard a knock at the door while sitting down in his chair to read the newspaper. When he answered the door, he found Mr. Post, the mailman (who also happened to be a neighbor of his).

"Package for Mr. Huckleberry Hound!" he announced.

Huck beamed when he saw the box. "Oh goody, goody, gosh! This must be the new instant-type camera I sent away for!"

Mr. Post smiled. "Interested in photography, are you Huck?"

"Well, I heard that there was gonna be a big photo contest comin' up and that the winner will win a thousand dollars! I reckon if I win that prize money, I won't have to worry about my bills creepin' up on me the way I am now!"

Mr. Post nodded. "I see. Well, best of luck to you, Huck!"

"Thanks!" the blue hound replied. "I'll see ya' later! I'm gonna start putting this thing together!"

He closed the door and immediately went to work opening the package and pulling everything out, from the camera body itself, the big lens, and the tripod on which it sat.

"Oh boy!" he said to himself. "I can't wait to try this thing out!"

It took him a couple of hours to put it together, but as soon as it was all set up, he thought of what he could take a picture of first.

"Hmm," he thought to himself. "Maybe I should test this thing with something nice and practical."

He gazed around his house, looking for something interesting to test out his camera with, but when he looked in the mirror, he had an idea.

"I know!" he cried. "I'll try this thing on myself! You know, like a self portrait!"

Huck ran back to where he'd left the camera, then pointed it at himself and set the automatic timer to snap within ten seconds. He quickly jumped back in front of it and tried to think quickly of a good face to make. At first, he just stood there and smiled a toothy smile, but at the last second, he pulled on the edges of his mouth, stuck out his tongue and made a goofy face just as the camera snapped his picture.

"Alrighty," he said. "Let's see how this picture turns out."

The photo came out of the camera, but when Huck took it and looked at it carefully, he suddenly saw himself doing the goofy face! He screamed in surprise, before he flopped himself on the couch, and started doubling over with laughter. He couldn't help himself. He found his photo hilarious!

"HAHAHAHA...now that's the funniest thing I've ever seen myself do!" he howled.

It just so happened that his friend Hokey Wolf had been walking by his house at that moment, and he overheard Huck's wild laughter. He went up to the door, and gave it a knock, but Huck didn't answer. He was laughing so hard, he couldn't get up off the couch! So Hokey opened the door himself, and went up to the couch where Huck was still laughing.

"Shee! What's going on here, Huck?" he wondered. "You're a dog, not a hyena!"

Huck got up, and noticed Hokey standing there. "Oh, sorry, Hokey!" he said. "But you should look at this photo I took! It's hilarious!!"

Huck showed Hokey the photo, and the wolf let out a snicker. Soon his snickering turned into full-on laughter, and the two of them cracked up together! They laughed until their sides began to hurt, and they had to stop and settle themselves down.

"Gee, I never knew I had it in me," Huck chuckled. "But that photo I just took looks so funny!!"

"I think you should frame it," Hokey said. "Then when you feel sad, you can take a look at it, and give yourself a good laugh when you need one!"
