One beautiful summer day, Huckleberry Hound had decided to go for a walk into the flower fields to pick some bluebelles, daisies, and daffodils. He couldn't help but sniff some of them, since he liked how sweet they smelled.

"Ahhhh, the fresh scent of bluebelles!" he sighed as he sniffed the beautiful blossoms. "Gosh, I wish there were some pretty tiger lilies out here too...or maybe some beebalms...y'know...what looks like them little sunflowers?"

He continued to pick some of his favorite flowers when he heard a familiar sound.

"Hup, two, three, four! Hup, two, three, four!"

Huck stopped to listen. "Hey!" he cried. "I know those voices! It's the boy scouts!"

And he was right. Marching right towards him were the group of young boys and their camp counselor. They soon came to a stop when they realized that Huck was standing there, waving to them.

"Hi, boy scouts!!" he cried. "A houuuuuund dog howdy to ya!"

"Hey!" one boy shouted. "Aren't you that Huckleberry Hound person?"

"In person!" Huck replied. "Boop-oop-a-doop! Hehehe!"

"Listen, puppy!" another boy scowled. "A blue hound dog like you would actually be better for the circus than television!"

"How would you like to walk around in a clown's costume?"

"I'd look..." Huck paused as he thought for a moment. "I'd look absolutely ridiculous!"

But the boys just laughed. The camp counselor was quite embarrassed, and walked up to Huck as the hound stood there in disbelief.

"I'm terribly sorry," he said. "They're really not bad boys. They just seem to want to grow up too fast. I want you to know that I really enjoy your show, Huckleberry."

"Thanks!" Huck replied. But then he began to feel tears filling his eyes. "But I just can't believe what those boys just said to me!"

"I know. When we get back to camp, they're getting a talking-to," the counselor replied.

"You mean we're in trouble!?" another boy shouted.

"You'll be in bigger trouble if you don't quiet down," the counselor said. "Now let's start marching back to camp, double time!" He turned to Huck. "By the way, if you ever wanted to volunteer, the Scouts are looking for some good able-bodied people to help with raising money for events this summer."

And off the boy scouts marched. But Huck just stood there, tearing up. "I can't believe those boys would say that about me!" he sniffled. He started to cry. "Bwahahahaha...!"

There he sat in the flower field, crying for a good ten minutes before he finally calmed down.

"I...I don't understand. I thought all the kidlets loved my show. Why would those boys make fun of me?"

Just then, Mr. Jinks was riding his bike over to the flower fields, when he saw Huck sitting there.

"Like, uh, what's wrong, Huck?" he asked as he got off his bike and walked over to the hound.

"Well," Huck began. "These boy scouts came up to me, and they said that I would be better in a circus than on TV..." he felt the tears coming back as he spoke. "And they started laughing at me and..."

"Oh no," Jinks sighed. "Huck, please don't start crying, it's gonna be..."

But it was too late. Huck threw back his head and started to break into tears. "BWAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

Jinks covered his ears, but immediately began to try and help the hound calm down. He placed one paw on Huck's shoulder.

"Hey, remember what we've been talking about, Huck!" he shouted over all the crying. "Deep breaths...remember?"
