As you were walking, you were still utterly confused by what he said, You didn't know what he meant by 'bright' and 'become the next batch of f/c'. You made your way to the lab first, assuming that he wanted his coffee hot. As you opened the door, one of the Scientists looked at you coldly. You decided to ignore it and went to grab the files Wally was talking about.

"Are you new here?" The scientist finally spoke, you paused, and took a deep breath. "Yeah, I was just hired today." You replied as you grabbed the files. The scientist nodded once then turns back to continue analyzing the plethora of colors in front of them. "Hey, what's that?" You asked, pointing at the colors. "Did you not get taught about what we do here?" They asked suspiciously. You gulped "No, Wally just told me to grab coffee and files for him.." you replied.

The scientist then looked at you while writing something down. "Here at the factory, we make Rainbows from People's Spectra." They started, trying to make things easy to understand, but in a way, you were still confused. "In the labs, we analyze if their Spectra is pure enough to put into the mix of Rainbows." They stopped and looked at you, Realizing that you were still confused.

"I can see that you are still confused.." they said coldly while putting the pen back on the table. "Wally said something before I started working here.. Could you tell me what it meant?" You asked sheepishly. You were extremely nervous as they handed you the file they were working on. "Be quick, Wally hates when people take too long." They said as they turned to their computer.

"Well..." you started before they interrupted you, "go get him his coffee. Ask him since I don't have any time to help you." They said as they shooed you out of the labs. You scoffed softly. 'That was rude' you thought to yourself. You made your way to the lounge to make Wally his coffee. Luckily, the machine was quick. You picked up the mug and rushed to his office, knocking before entering. "Come in" he spoke, as you walked in.

"Ah, there you are. Was the scientist giving you a hard time?" He asked as you handed him the coffee. "No, they just had small talk with me while finishing up a file." You replied as you then placed the files on his desk. "Since it's your first day, I'll excuse you for taking a while when you grab the items I ask for, after all, the factory is pretty big, I'm glad you didn't get lost." He said as he took a sip then he stopped dead in his tracks.

'Oh Shit, did I make it wrong?!' You thought to yourself before he spoke up "The coffee... Is hot, for once." He said as he blew on it, trying to cool it down a little. "Y/n, May I ask what kind of small talk you had with the scientist?" He asked as he took another sip of his coffee. "They were telling me about what they do here, since I asked.. I was gonna ask them something else, but they shooed me away." You replied looking away.

"Do you want to ask me? Since you still seem a little bit curious." He said leaning against his desk to look at you. You looked back at him, as your eyes met, you quickly looked away as you spoke. "You said something about... Me being Bright? What did you mean..?" You asked nervously. He paused and softly smiled sinisterly. "What I mean by that, is that you are very colorful. Bright colors are always the best ones for batches of color." He replied, still waiting for you to make eye contact again.

You paused for a moment, still confused. "And.." you started as your eyes met his. "What did you mean by 'become the next batch of f/c' when telling me my choices.?" You asked as you were starting to get uncomfortable with him staring at you. As you were about to break the intense eye contact, he stood up and took your hand. "Let me give you a tour of the factory, and answer any Other questions you may have." He said as you stood up to walk with him. He let go of your hand the moment he reached his door, leading to the rest of the factory.

"Don't wonder off. We wouldn't want the guards try to harm my employee by throwing them into the grinder, now would we?" He spoke as he opened the door. "You.. didn't answer my question though" you mumbled as he walked you towards different parts of the Factory. "You already have seen the Lab, and the lounge.." he started as he kept walking. "These machines are really deadly, so please, try not to fall into them. I can't afford to try and find a new assistant immediately.." he said as you looked down at the massive machine.

It was loud, and it made you feel uneasy. "Is that the machine that separates People's... 'Spectra', was it..?" You asked. Wally stopped and turned to you. "Why, Yes it is. Very observant. And also, yes, it is called 'Spectra'" He said with a grin. "If this machine is 'really deadly' then..." you paused. You just then remembered another thing he said that you didn't think too much about until at that moment.

'No soul who enters, Leaves this factory' you thought as you stated down at the machine, frozen in fear. Wally Took notice of you gripping the handlebars tightly, and walked over to you. "Y/n." He spoke, breaking you out of your trance. You turned to look at him, he was staring again. "Did you have another question?" He asked as he put his hand on your shoulder.

It made you flinch for a moment, You didn't know what to say, but you finally understood that if you chose to become the next batch of
f/c, you would have been dead. You kept your composure as you smiled softly. "No. I thought I did, but..." you paused and looked at the machine once more. "I understand now..." you said turning back to him.
