You walked around the entire factory, asking everyone what they were working on in that moment. Thinking that Wally would want proof, you watched each employee do their tasks and wrote in detail what they did. After three hours, you filled out all the pages on your clipboard. "Alright. One last stop." You said to yourself, walking to the infirmary.
You opened the door and the doctor looked up at you. "Hello, I'm assuming Wally sent you to fill more paperwork?" They asked you with a chuckle. "Actually, yeah. I'm assuming that he told you before I came in?" You asked as the doctor handed you the forms. "Yeah, he did. Just put down the information that the form asks, Then you can be on your way. Unless you have gotten hurt?" He asked you as you started filling the form. "No, I'm alright for now." You replied.
"So what's it like working as his personal assistant?" They asked, you knew they were trying to make some small talk. "I fetch him documents and coffee, along with writing notes and walking around the factory. Sometimes with how much I write, my wrist tends to cramp." You spoke as you were continuing to fill out the form, as the doctor smiled at you. "Are you enjoying being his assistant?" They asked as they smirked lightly. You stopped to think, you didn't know what to say.
"I..." you paused, While you hated the nightmares this job brought, you also liked how easy it was. Just as you were about to speak, the door opened, Revealing Wally. "Ah, Wally. What can I help you with?" The doctor asked as they looked at him. "Nothing at the moment, I just wanted to make sure Y/n came here. And it seems they are." He said coldly. You started to sweat, however you kept writing until his cold metallic rested on yours.
You stopped writing as you looked up towards him. "Is there something you need..?" You asked, as you both made eye contact. "Y/n, May I have the documents that have the activity of the employees?" He asked. You nodded as you handed them to him. "Very good. You did way more than the last assistant." He said with a small smile. "Y/n, once you're done here, can you meet me in lab A?" He asked as his hand lifted away from yours.
"Of course, Wally. I'll be there as soon as I'm done." You spoke, as you went back to filling out the form. "Perfect, I'll see you there. For your first hands-on experiment." He said as he left you and the doctor alone. "Oh boy.. then I'll expect one of you two back in my office soon." The doctor said chuckling to themself. "What do you mean?" You asked, as they turned to you.
"Some experiments can cause a minor injury, some cause a major injury, others are safe, and around 10% of them are deadly if done wrong." The doctor said with a sigh. You gulped, knowing there was a 10% chance of death was scary, so you made it your personal goal to not mess up. You finished filling out the form and handed it to the doctor. "Thank you, Y/n. Be careful." The doctor spoke as you left to go meet Wally in Lab A.
You opened the door to the lab, there was thankfully no puppet there, but rather, spectra in small containers to separate the colors. "Ah, Y/n. You're here. Come over here." Wally spoke as you did as he told. "What experiment is this?" You asked as you looked up at him." He looked down into your eyes, which made you look away.
"I'm going to ask you to mix all of the impure spectra together. Normally, if impure spectra mixes with normal spectra, It ruins the entire batch." He spoke before pointing to a clear liquid. "That is a chemical that the scientists have been working on to see if we can make the impure spectra pure again so that we don't have to start over if something goes wrong." He spoke as he clicked his pen and began writing on his clipboard.
"First mix together the impure spectra in one of the beakers, making sure to leave at least half of each color separated from the mix." Wally spoke as you started mixing half of each color into the slightly bigger container. You were nervous about this experiment, remembering what the doctor had said, but you still carried on. Once the mixed impure spectra was ready, you awaited for your next step from Wally.
"Pour one drop into each of the separated impure spectra, then wait for further instructions." Wally spoke as he loomed over you. You gulped, and did as he told. The separated spectra was bubbling, and Wally rested his hand on your shoulder, ready to act if something went wrong. Thankfully, the separated spectra calmed down, and so, he lifted his hand away from you to take notes.
You watched him as he carefully examined the separate spectra under a microscope, occasionally writing notes as he did so. After a few moments, Wally walked back over to you. "Now, pour the remaining liquid into the mixed spectra." He spoke, as he watched you carry out the action. As you poured the liquid slowly, you heard the separate spectra that Wally placed away from the table you were working at make a loud bang sound, causing you to jolt and spill the liquid into the mix way to quickly. "Oh Fuck.." you spoke as the mix started to overreact.
Wally was about to grab and pull you away, but it was too late. The mix exploded in front of you, causing you to be covered in black smoke, as you and him coughed, rushing out of the lab, he stopped and sat you down at a nearby bench. "Are you okay?!" He asked while you were still coughing. You felt his hand cup your cheek, which made your coughing fit stop. "I'm fine... are you okay?" You asked Wally. He sighed in relief.
"I'm alright. It seems this experiment was a failure.." he spoke as he removed his hand from your cheek and wrote down what happened. "You should go clean yourself up, Once you're done, you can go back to my office. I'll take care of the lab, okay?" He spoke as he stood up. "Okay, Wally." You said as you went to the restroom to clean yourself up. As you finished up, you went back to his office.
