After the tour, and grabbing things Wally needed throughout the day, Your shift finally ended. As you were putting your work clothes back in the locker, Wally turns to you. "Y/n, would you like me to walk you home?" He asked. You had no clue how he was able to keep calm after hearing screams and watching puppets get their colors extracted all day.
"Sure.." you replied as you closed the locker. Wally knew that you were extremely uncomfortable, and patted you on the back. "You did good today, and you adapted faster than the others.. unless." He paused as he looked at you, noticing that you were slightly shaking. "You were just hiding your fear?" He said as he leaned down to your ear. You didn't want to admit that you were scared, so you came up with a lie to explain your shaking.
"No, I'm fine, sorry Wally I'm just... Cold." You said, it was somewhat true, the Factory was a bit colder since it was late at night. He sighed and stood back up "Okay, Y/n. Let's go." He said as he walked out of the office with you. Walking home with Wally was a bit awkward because of how silent it was. As you reached your house, Wally called out to you. "Y/n. I'll come wake you up. Is that okay?" He asked softly.
You stood at your front door, sighing softly as you replied with a forced smile. "Sure, Wally.. I'll see you tomorrow." He waved at you as he spoke "Sleep Well, Y/n. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." You turned to see him walking away, only to turn back towards your house. As you closed the door behind you, you fell to the floor on your knees. All the fear you were feeling came in one fell swoop, making you unable to get up.
You sat there for a while before standing up once again to get ready for bed. As you were lying in bed, you couldn't get the images of that machine out of your head. Part of you didn't want to go back the next day. But you knew that you had to, unless you wanted the life you had to end. You didn't want that so you quickly fell asleep so that you didn't go back there on the verge of passing out.
You were in a dark room, it was quiet at first but then you heard screams. You held your ears in pain as they continued. The dark room filled with colors, it felt as though it was like the water level was rising. You swam through the colors trying to find an exit, but to no avail. You started Screaming for help, until the colors drowned you slowly sinking in the darkness that was below the hues. You woke up in a cold sweat, you were in your room, safe.
You were breathing heavily. 'What the fuck kind of nightmare was that?!' You thought to yourself. Just then, you heard a knock at the front door. You were nervous to see who it was, but you collected yourself and made your way to the front door. The knocking continued, As you opened the door, Wally looked down toward you looking a little sleepy. "Good Morning Y/n. Ready to head to the factory?" He asked in a polite yet cold tone.
As much as you wanted to say 'Hell No', you took a deep breath and forced a smile. "Yeah, Wally.. Let's go." You said. As the two of you walked to the factory, Wally decided to try and make small talk with you. "So, did you sleep well Last night?" He sounded... Kind? You paused, remembering that nightmare you had. You didn't want him to know since you didn't know what his reaction would be.
"I slept... Well. How about you..?" You asked as you turned your head towards him. "I slept pretty Well." He looked down at you and his small smile faded. He stopped and kneeled down to your level. "Y/n.. you look a bit... Pale... you're not as bright as yesterday." He said as he cupped his hand on your cheek, causing you to flinch and blush lightly.
"I'm fine, Wally, Really. I'm just a bit tired is all.." you lied. You then nudged his hand away from your face. He sighed and stood up. "Fine. Whatever you say." He replied coldly. The rest of the way to the factory was quiet. As you got into your work clothes, Wally hands you his mug. "Grab me some coffee... and while you're at it..." He paused as he looked at you. "Maybe grab some breakfast for yourself. You look hungry." It was true, he did arrive at your home before you could Eat. "Of course, Wally." You said as you left the room.
You walked to the lounge where the coffee machine was and started making it. As it brewed, you looked out the window toward the factory itself. You were lost in thought, you wondered if that nightmare was a warning. You heard the Coffee maker beep, Signaling that it was done. As you poured the Coffee into Wally's mug, you decided to grab two apples from the fruit basket for him and yourself.
You walked on the catwalk toward his office, stopping in your tracks to look at the machines do their job. It was horrifying, yet you couldn't look away. You shook your head and went into Wally's office. He looks up from his computer toward you and sighed. "Can you remember to knock next time?" He asked coldly. "Sorry.. Here's your coffee, and an apple.." you said placing one of the two apples on his desk, along with his mug.
He let you eat your breakfast while he worked on his computer, he occasionally look at you, which made you look back at him. "Is something wrong?" You asked. "No, rather.. Your color is slowly returning.. That's good. I was.." he paused and sighed "worried that you would be on the verge of passing out.. Can't have another accident like that again." You blinked, he was.. Worried about you? All you could do was nod and finish your breakfast while you questioned what he meant about an accident.
