The Factory opened but you were still asleep in Wally's arms, causing him to smile softly as he carried you, the syringe, and the clipboard to your shared office. Off to the side was a personal break room with a couch. He Laid you down on it and covered you with a blanket. He softly watched you sleep for a few moments before putting the other things he held in his desk drawer.
Wally worked while you slept, occasionally opening the door lightly to check on you. He smiled softly every time he saw you peacefully asleep, however he also frowned at how gray you were, he wanted, no, Needed to find out what caused it. He stepped out of his office and walked around the factory, looking for a person who looked at him differently, but everyone was calm and said "Hello, Mr. Darling" with a smile as he walked passed them.
He started to feel hopeless, no one was acting out of the ordinary, and so he went to the infirmary with a saddened expression. The doctor looked up to meet Wally's gaze as they put something away. "Morning, Mr. Darling, what can I help you with today?" They spoke the same line as always. Wally sighed and sat down. "I highly doubt you can do much, I just need a moment.." Wally said as he held his head in his hand.
"I'm guessing that something is on your mind. You're never usually here so early.. Talk to me, what's goin on?" They asked as Wally sighed. "Y/n... They are... extremely Ill... but I'm not sure how it started.. You still have their medical information...?" Wally asked as the doctor sighed. The doctor then reached into their filing cabinet to find the records.
"Here. This is what they filled out on their form." The doctor said, Handing it to Wally. Wally flipped through the pages, hoping to find something.. But there was nothing that could explain it. "Damn... No lead.." Wally muttered to himself as he handed the file back to the Doctor. "Mr. Darling, if I may ask.. what symptoms are they showing?" They asked as they crossed their legs.
Wally stood up and went to open the door. "I'm going to go check on Them-.." He spoke before seeing you hobble over. He opened the door for you "Y/n! What are you doing here..?!" He asked in a mild panicked tone. While he wasn't paying attention, the doctor wrote something on the file they were hiding. "My head hurts.. So I wanted some pain killers.." You mumbled to Wally.
The doctor closed the drawer the file was hiding and grabbed you your pain killers. "Here you are, Y/n... Hm...You look gray today.." He said as you took the Pain killers. Wally felt as though something was wrong as You spoke with the doctor, but he couldn't put his finger on what.. Wally interrupted you two as the doctor kept asking questions while holding your arm.
"I think Y/n is feeling tired, and wants to go back to the office.." he started before the doctor cut him off "Oh nonsense, Mr. Darling, they can rest here. We are in an infirmary.. Right?" The doctor spoke in a cold tone. Wally Stared into the doctor's eyes before snapping. "Are we going to have a problem? Because My, oh my... you're acting kinda pushy today." Wally said in an angry tone as he held the doctor by their coat.
He stopped in his tracks as you tugged on his own coat gently. "Yes, Y/n? Do you want me to take you back to the office?" Wally asked in a sweet tone of voice. You nodded quietly as Wally practically threw the doctor on the ground. "We will be on our way, now that they got their pain killers, Alright, buddy?" Wally asked in his angry voice as a shadow loomed over his eyes. The doctor only glared at Wally as he left the room with you.
"Y/n, did anyone see your gray tone?" He asked as the two of you walked back to the office with his hand resting on your back. "No... I had the blanket over me.. They did look at me but they just assumed I was cold." You replied in a raspy voice. "I see.. I don't want the employees to see you like this, knowing them, they would inject spectra into you without asking if it was alright." He said somewhat coldly.
"Like you were about to do..?" You responded as he paused. He sighed as the two of you entered the office. "I'm sorry... I just... whenever I see someone with little to no color, I just... have to fix them.. Rainbows and color are the things I live for.. and seeing people in grayscale makes me-.." he spoke as you hugged him which stopped his train of thought. "Don't worry... I understand you only want to help.." you replied as he leaned down to hug you back.
For once, the physical touch was warm and comforting, compared to being cold and terrifying before. You felt safer with Wally, It could be because he looks after you, or it could be that everyone else was just too much to deal with. You looked at his metallic hand and held it. "You never told me what happened to your arm..." you said softly as you glanced up at him.
"It was a lab accident about a month ago... The scientists built me my new arm the same day, as to not slow down production of the factory. This was when we first discovered that breaking ribs gave us more spectra.." he replied calmly as you played with the fingers. He chuckled softly which made you stop. "What's so funny..?" You asked shyly.
"Your hands are just... So little." He giggled as you softly slapped his face gently, yet rapidly. "They may be little but they can still fight..!" You said giggling until he grabbed both of your hands to stop you from slapping him. "You're being really silly.. Are those pain killers making you woozy or something?" He asked as he looked deeply into your eyes. "Maybe a little.." you said while yawning, which made Wally lay you down onto the couch again. "I'll be at my desk if you need me... Darling~.." he said as he left the room, making your heart race.
