CHAPTER 8
EIRLYS
Manong asked.
"Yes po. Thank you," I smiled at them to give them assurance.
I went directly into the house. I don't have to knock dahil bukas ang pinto ng bahay. It was pretty, the interior was pretty, but the hell I care with the interior. I'm here to get my husband.
I wore my serious and emotionless face nang matanaw ko silang lahat sa living room.
There are lots of empty bottles of liquors around. They're eight men and half of them aren't that drunk.
"Hey!" The man who's wearing a grey shirt stood up and walked towards me. "Hindi ka nagsabing nandito ka na pala. Eirlys, right?"
He looks genuine, but still... no.
"Yes."
I looked around to see Draven, but he's not here. Kumunot ang noo ko. I can feel their eyes on me.
"Oh, si Draven ba? He's upstairs. He's sleeping there sa kwarto."
Sa kwarto?
Unti unti akong tumango.
"Oh, okay. I'm going to get him so we can go home already. I have class tomorrow and—"
"He's drunk and I doubt that you can carry him. I suggest, just stay here for tonight and gigisingin na lang namin kayo nang maaga." He's smoking.
He's drunk and very useless," The other man said.
"I can manage—"
"Dude! Where's our manners? We didn't even introduce ourselves to her," May tumayong isang lalaki mula sa likod. May hawak siyang cup na may lamang alak. "I'm Joe, Draven's college friend. It's so nice to see you, Eirlys," He smiled.
He handed me the cup of liquor. "Shot mo muna?"
Umiling ako agad. "Ah, no, thank you. I have class tomorrow—"
Drinking with us won't hurt, right?" The most tall among them said as he stood up.
What the hell?
Just spend the night here—"
"Oh, don't worry, I won't drive." I cut him off.
"Who's gonna drive, then? Si Draven? He's wasted,"
Nagtawanan sila.
"I have my driver and bodyguards with me. I brought them here to keep me and my husband safe. If you're thinking that we might meet an accident or can't accompany each other, I think my bodyguards will help you have your peace of minds?" Nag-taas ako ng kilay sakanila.
