The moment Kieran reached the tall double iron doors to the council room, the two guards opened it with low creek. The king sat at the head of the table, the first in command standing directly behind the king’s chair. Four lower level advisors were already present that worked under Kieran directly, they gave a short bow to show respect, though not as low a you would bow to the king. A nod is what she gave in return and the same to the first in command and a low bow to the king. Kieran took a seat to the right of the king a chair in-between and the four low lever advisors all the way at the end of the table that had a map a top it of the 13 regions.  The moment she sat the doors opened again and Kia walked in with a book in hand looking just as angry as he did the moment they had appeared back in the castle.  He showed respect  as due an took a seat beside the advisor. The first in command looked at his son , brows frowned  in anger but said nothing.

“Now that we are all here, this private meeting will now commence.” The king said
There was a woman that appeared from a side door with paper and ink to keep record of what was said. “ Nothing said in this room should leave this room , understood?”

All replied with yes my king.

The first advisor stood and read the report she had recalling events,  from The moment spies reported strange activities, back to to her and Kia appearing in the castle before them. Neither the king or the first in command look surprised and a few gasp left the other advisors sitting at the table. Kia saw this and got even more fusturated.

“If I could speak my king”. The king gave the ok and he began.

“I didn’t understand much of what was happening, I didn’t see this war my self  that my father speaks off. I know we age different than most races, because of this I did my own research over the course of the night. Remember the knowledge that was passed down after the great war. My father is a strategic master mind that kept all the books maps and reports from that time until now in his private library along with messages received from spies of that time as well. Majority of the powerful members of the royal family disappeared within the final years of the war. No proof of death was known even among their own people. They simply vanished . There is no record, by spies or otherwise that suggested that the dragon kingdom had anyone within it’s leniage of lower ranked dragon kin that could use the gift, much less become a mage. The way the ones we saw in the Forrest looked it was as if the had decades of advancements. Here in the history it shows that the lower level dragon kins were savage and simply followed the upper ranked because they were powerful.  These ones we saw , they were a developed people civilized and organized. What is it that is being hidden from us if we do not know how can we be prepared”.

As Kia spoke the last words , you could hear the venom roll of his tongue. Though all he said was something that all knew and realized after Kieran’s report.

The first in command sighed behind the king . And the king gave him the go ahead to speak.

“After the war, most of the low level dragon kins and demon kins along with more races that followed the dragon kingdom were exiled  to the barren lands to starve and die for their war crimes. Ever since we have kept spies to inform us of the progress of such.  After some time we stopped sending spies because of the civil war we had 5 years ago, we needed the man power and we only check on the lands a year and a half ago.  Once barren and sandy lands have green as beautiful as the ones here in dalwin. This was as far as the eyes could see. If it had ended there our minds would be at ease. A city with structures beautiful and as tall as the skies rose from within the green. It was of metal,  And not of the earth as our kingdom, machines, only seen from the first wars . It was unbelievable reading the report. So I went with a Taliban of spies to investigate. The reports were true. It was other worldly.  They trade with lands across the salted blue waters continental trade is the term they used. The spies we send in now never returned. Killed. The craters we have now on our lands are not normal, it is as if the method they are using is not fully under control. We believe that , they are summonings. They are pulling souls from thin air.”

Kai sat still mouth agape unable to speak. He shook in anger and confusion. Staring into nothing. Kieran on the other hand stared at the king as he stared back at her. One of the four  advisors spoke up, a man as tall as the commander but frail.

“Why has his Majesty the king kept this from us, his advisors , minds of old? Knowledge of the gift blessed by our creators?” The frail man said beard long and white.

The king sat and had is elbows on the table and  hands within each other, chin rested on it narrow his eyes as he was still looking at Kieran who not once looked away.
He spoke voice tired.

“We tried to go with  deplomatic conversation with the city. Several letters were sent with escort. None returned to us. The spies we sent recently, none returned. They refuse to speak to us and kill any and everything we sent. “

The king sighed. Gaining the attention of Kai , bringing him back to reality. He took a good look at the king Infront of him, he looked tired.  This is the first day hearing the news , he immediately knew why it is a secret. He regretted being angry immediately. Seeing the king face slip he suddenly looked older than he ever looked. Kia sighed himself. Defeated.

Kieran spoke next.

“Men and women will be losing their lives, for nothing if we go to war., This is pointless before it even begins.”

The king stood. “ This meeting will pause for now, first we must get the prisoner to speak, the commander tried and failed, Kieran, it is up to you to get at least a little information we can use. After everything that was said we all need some time to think about this."

Kai stood and simply left the room, gasp from everyone was heard.

Leave him be. The king said .

“This meeting is over”.

Kieran was left with the king re seated and the commander still standing behind his chair.

“I know how you feel Kieran, you are still young, though close friends, please understand I did this for our people. Regarding the prisoner am as-

Kieran cut off the king and stated. “I will do my best my king.” Voice tight with emotion. The king and commander left through a secret door to the far right of the room. Her shoulders Shook as she cried silently. After around ten minutes or so she put herself together and Walked back to the double doors, once the guards opened the doors a third guard came and sated

“I will take you to the prisoner advisor”  she simple gave a nod. Face back to the mask of being the first advisor.

Kieran silently waked behind the guard that led them through multiple hallways and they ended up behind the castle were an entrance like a cave came into view.  She remembered this is the entrance to the underground doungen . Torches were lit before entering. They went down in circles of stairs for 15 minutes before arriving at a long corridor hallway that seems to go on forever with stone for walls and every few inches  bars of iron with people that committed crimes against the king. Sentencings worse than death as they moan and groaned, starvation and in their own feces and urine.

Another 15 minutes of passing cells an the horrible smell, they finally excited the hallway and came into a surprisingly flower scented room with a man chained to the left wall of the small box room with no windows, jut a sofa, a small table and a desk.  The man chained to the wall had black scales all over much like the woman they had captured. The moment she made eye contact with the man's green reptilian eyes a smile broke out on his face

"You grace me with your beauty, mage" he said, a smug look on his face
