Even with the death of her beloved husband Delia never gave up on her son. Even though they were traveling, Jesse and James continued to take care of the baby who was now learning to crawl. That way she would go to the jungle again to study some species belonging to other regions, and on that day before departure she made an intelligent decision.
"Are you really going there again?"
"I know it's the second time there but I decided to go the other way, but on my next trip I'll take Ash with me."
"But what if he ends up getting lost by being taken by a kidnapper?"
"But obviously not James! I wouldn't let the wrongdoer take my curious little one."
The driver honked for Delia, and she had to go.
"Well I need to go now. Mommy will be back to take you on your next trip my sweetie!" Delia said her promise by gently tugging the little boy's cheeks before leaving.
The couple and the talking cat Pokémon waved their friend off on yet another trip. The purple haired man smiled and scooped Ash into his arms.
"I hope he doesn't pluck my whiskers like the last few times!"
"Don't be rude Meowth, he's just a baby discovering the world. "
"James is right. It's not cool to judge minors in development, what are we going to play?"
"We can play Pokémon and then tell some stories before Legendaries and Mythicals go dormant."
As the days passed, Delia obtained new information about the other species of Pokémon that came to inhabit the Kanto jungle. After a while Delia returned to Pallet, and for her last trip before retirement she took her son with her as she had promised.
At camp everything was quiet, Delia was in charge of the hut and left Ash outside playing on a light blue rug in a crib on the grass. But that would soon become a big mistake, that day the baby was playing while his mother was getting everything ready to leave, without Delia seeing, Ash easily climbed one of the bars when he saw a Butterfree flying over him, and in that way the child began to crawl through the grass to reach Butterfree and when Delia finished, she was in for a sad surprise."Alright little one, time to go home!"
The Delia's smile soon faded when she saw that her son was gone, it would be dangerous to go back looking for him and she burst into tears. First her husband Dave and now unfortunately her son too.
"I won't be able to stay here anymore my little Ash...but I promise to come back so we can meet, no matter how much time passes I will always remember my beloved son...and may you survive and be in good hands.... "
Those last sweet words Delia left back to Pallet even without the baby that made her smile. Now alone, the baby gave up following Butterfree and sat there crying lightly for a while until an Arcanine couple heard the crying until they came across the adorable human baby with tan skin in the middle of the jungle.
"A human baby!" The female Arcanine exclaimed in surprise before having her face touched by the boy who started laughing.
"He must have lost his family, what are we going to do?"
"Let's adopt him. He looks hungry."
The male Arcanine could not resist the baby's sympathy, he lifted his head to help him stand on his two feet and then the poster on his back.
The Arcanine couple took Ash to their den where the little four Growlithe loved the news that they would have another brother that although it wasn't a Pokémon they accepted it with a lot of love.
