I walked home from my first Day of work. Kaitlyn watched Kade for me while I was there.
" Hey mom " I said smiling at her as I sat my things down.
I saw her with a bags and some towels in her hand.
" What's going on? " I asked looking at her confused
" I can't take this anymore. I'm leaving " she said as she stood there
" Then, let me get Kade and I things together and I'll be right out " I said moving around.
She grabbed me, " Stop and listen. I'm leaving alone. I can't deal living here in this town and y'all. Im just so stressed. I'm not happy " She said looking at me
" Mom. Please, let us go with you " I said looking at her
She ignored me and walked away.
She walked out of the motel and got in her car.
" Mom, please don't go! " I said as I chased after her
She slammed the car door and drove off quickly as I ran after her car.
" Damn it!" I screamed
I walked back and forth until Kaitlyn showed up with Kade.
" What's wrong? " She asked confused
" My mom left us here. She isn't coming back " I said as I looked at her and then kade.
" What do you mean? " he asked, but I'm sure he knew exactly what I meant
" Mom is just going through some things. So she went away " I said
" For how long? ' he asked looking at me
" I don't know bud " I said looking at him as I picked him up .
He began crying as he held onto me.
" It's okay. I'm always going to be here for you " I said kissing him
" What are you going to do.? " Kaitlyn asked
" Can you watch him while I work? " I asked looking at her
" Yes, my foster mom doesn't mind " she said rubbing my back
" Thank you! " I said smiling
We said our goodbye's and I walked back into the room.
Kade had already eaten so I just fixed me some noodles.
We went to bed soon after.
Kade never once again asked about mom.
It broke my heart to see him crying. I never want him to be hurt or sad.
My moms friend hasn't came back in a while and I was so pleased. I was finally beginning to sleep at night without worrying about if he is going to come in and hurt me.
I hated living in fear.
We woke up the next morning and I dropped him off at Kaitlyn and walked to work.
I cleaned and straighten the retail store. I stayed on my job
I worked every other day. Double shifts if I could.
I looked for other jobs but couldn't find another one
I had kade sleeping in my arms as we made it to the motel.
" When am I going to get my damn money. You're a month behind! " the motel manager said
" I'm working on it. I'll have half next week! " I said looking at him..
" I want all of it or your out! " he yelled and went back into his office
I shook my head as I opened my door and kicked it shut.
I laid kade down and took off his clothes and shoes.
" Sorry to hear about your mom " I heard a familiar voice say
I jumped and looked at him scared too death.
" If you ever need any help. I'm here " he said smiling
" I don't need your help with anything. Get out " I said shaking
He giggled. " Lay down,im not in the mood. I just got out of jail " he said pulling out his gun
" Please don't do this to me " I said crying as he pushed me on the ground.
He hit me in my head with the gun and I immediately got dizzy.
The room was spinning and I couldn't stop it.
I heard him as he grunted as he had his way with me.
" If you tell anyone. I'll kill kade in front of you. " he said standing up as he left
I laid on the floor and curled up in a Ball.
I ran to the bathroom and threw up.
I took my shower and laid in the bed with Kade.
I have to get out of here.
I went to work but got sent home cause they were too slow. They didn't need me.
Just what I needed.
I went to the jobs were I applied at and check on my application.
The restaurant needed someone who could clean and wash dishes. And I could do that.
I started tomorrow afternoon to learn the basics.
I smiled as I left the restaurant.
This was too exciting.
Finally things are starting to look up for me.
I walked to pick up Kade and we stayed over Kaitlyn house and ate and night struck.
" Are you sure you don't need me to give you a ride? " she asked looking at me
" Yes, thank you for everything " I said smiling as I hugged her
She hugged me and then we went home
I arrived at the motel exhausted.
I went to my door too see my things were put out.. " Noo " I yelled as I began hitting the door
" Why are our things outside " Kade asked confused
" Oops, seems like y'all need a place to stay " the rapist said walking towards us
" We aren't staying with you " I said rolling my eyes
" It's midnight, were else are you going to go? " he asked smiling
I rolled my eyes.
" Leave us alone " I said as I grabbed Kade hand and began walking away
" It's suppose to get cold tonight. Just saying and mesquitos are out. But whatever bye " he said as he began walking away
" We just need a place to stay tonight " I said looking at him
" Fair enough "
As long as my brother had a place to lay his head.
