lowercase writing

(the picture attached to the media section has nothing to do with this, but it's hella funny and I've been telling everyone about it).

if you happen to live under a rock and isn't aware of what lowercase writing is, it's basically when an author writes a story that's entirely lowercase. like, there's no uppercase involved. it's a pretty popular trend on wattpad, I'm sure everyone has at least seen one story written all lowercase.

and honestly, it kind of makes me cringe.

I tried to do it with clear skies because I thought it was look cool, but when I tried to write the prologue, I couldn't do it. I couldn't write lowercase, because in the back of my mind, I know that it's incorrect grammar and I wasn't taught to write that way ever XD. you're supposed to capitalize certain words and it doesn't look right to me and just no. I couldn't even get past writing four paragraphs with it.

for me, writing lowercase just makes the story look unprofessional and makes it look like you're too lazy to capitalize anything, and somewhat like an uneducated person. (which I know you're probably not, depends if you state it or not). you obviously do go to school, and maybe you like it that way, it's all up to your opinion and what your writing style is.

now, it doesn't bother me if people wrote lowercase for like rant books or commenting and just stuff that isn't really important. but, it does bother me if the "I" isn't capitalized or names like, "i went to the store today, and met blake." idk I'm being weird since I don't capitalize names here or anything yet I cringe when stories are written that way, I don't know why. I guess I'm used to reading books like that?

I do read stories like that, but for the entire time I'm reading it, I cannot help but just cringe when I see names or cities not capitalized. I know that some people like writing that way so I don't comment about it (plus, what's the big deal? it's just a style of writing) and I continue to read anyways.

I think writing in lowercase is overall a decent thing to do, but I still don't really like it since I was taught to write like I was writing an actual book. do editors even accept lowercase writing for a book that's actually getting published? I don't think so, but whatever, this is wattpad, where there's no rules when it comes to writing.

scratch that. there is one rule, and it's the rule I made up: LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR AND YOU'RE.
