one direction as an insult

okay. so if it's 2015, why are people still considering one direction as an insult?

back in may when I was in school, some asshole decided to make fun of one of my best friends in social studies class. I, being the person who does not take crap from anybody, told him off. and do you know what the asshole's friend said to him afterword?

guess.

I dare you.

he whispered too loudly, as he leaned in the asshole's ear, "don't take it seriously, she's a one direction fan."

and oh my god, you would not believe how done I was with the school year and basically the entire human population of the globe.

one direction became a boyband in 2010 and was the hottest thing in like 2011 and 2012. HELLO, DO YOU EVEN REALIZE WHAT YEAR IT IS. THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO STOP DWELLING ON THE PAST.

I cannot take someone who still thinks one direction are the same teenage boys like they were back then seriously. I really can't, it's 2015. again, it's 2015.

the fact that the asshole's friend told him I'm a one direction fan as an insult made me want to sit down and think about the mindset of the boy with a nice hairdo but a terrible personality. what does my taste in music have to do with anything?

why is it bad that I like one direction?

I feel as if the asshole's friend couldn't think of a comeback so he just used my music taste, and how apparently, liking one direction is a bad thing. I don't get it, I really don't get it.

why is it bad to like a certain celebrity or group?

unless they did something to give them the wrong reputation, I don't understand it one bit. why do some people make fun of me for liking taylor swift because she dated so many people? literally, have you listened to her albums, they're pure gold.

I'm still pissed off at the asshole's friend, even to this day even though it's july and that happened in may.

just saying that I don't really talk to the asshole's friend so I'm confused on how he knew I liked one direction considering how I don't really make it obvious except where that concert shirt bACK IN SEPTEMBER WHICH WAS A WHILE AGO.

but legit have you listened to four? have you listened to spaces? have you listened to 18? have you listened to fool's gold? what about illusion? nope you haven't all you've listened to that's one direction is what makes you beautiful and judging them by a song that was released back in 2010 gains you zero points.
