Prologue

Krystal was a young woman with a heart full of love and affection. She had always been a joyful and happy-go-lucky person until the day her boyfriend disappeared without a word.

It had been four long years since she last saw her beloved partner, and Krystal had no idea where he was or what had happened to him. The agonizing pain of not knowing the truth was slowly driving her insane.

She missed her boyfriend more than words could describe. She longed to be in his arms, to feel the warmth of his embrace and hear the sound of his voice. She yearned for a way to reach out to him and find out why he had left her without so much as a goodbye.

As days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, Krystal's sadness turned to despair. She couldn't eat, sleep, or concentrate on anything other than her boyfriend's absence. Her life had become a constant struggle just to get through each day.

Despite the emptiness that Kye had left behind all those years, she was able to overcome her depression and lead a contented, ordinary life with the aid of her therapist, Sandra, and her closest friend, Harper.

Krystal had focused all her time on her work while starting a small business of her own.

One fateful day, Krystal was on her way to the park after work when she spotted a man shadowing her from afar. Her heart raced with fear, but before she could sprint the other way, her boyfriend, Kye stepped out of the shadows, revealing himself to her.

It had been years since they had seen each other, yet it felt like a lifetime. The couple had been separated by distance and the ever-changing circumstances of life. The distance and unpredictable circumstances of life had previously caused the pair to part, despite Krystal's efforts to stay connected through phone and video calls, Kye never responded. Although there was no formal end to their relationship, Kye's sudden departure without any communication eventually came to be understood as a break-up after several years.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they were able to meet again. Kye decided to meet her while she was in the park, to their secret place, a place where they had shared many happy moments together. The air was crisp and the leaves were just starting to change color, signaling the beginning of a new season.

As they walked towards each other, their eyes locked in a gaze that conveyed all the love and affection they had been trying to express. They walked towards each other with arms open wide and embraced each other in a tight, warm hug. It was like they were trying to make up for all the lost time in that one moment.

For a while, they just stood there, wrapped up in each other's arms, not wanting to let go. But eventually, they had to break the embrace. They sat down on a nearby bench and started talking about everything that had happened in their lives since they last saw each other. They shared stories, laughed, and reminisced about old times.

At one point he knew what she had in mind, she wanted closure. She wants to know the reason why they are in this situation.

She then let out a deep sigh and questioned, "I didn't know what you were going through, I thought that you were fine. Why did you have to hide?"

"I didn't want to let you down, but the truth is out. It's tearing me apart, not having you in my arms! But I know it was the right thing to do." Kye responded, turning away, to hide his tears.

"A lot had happened after you joined the gang. I was scared every time you were assigned to missions! They don't like failure and failure either way could cause you harm. I had to do something and I did but I have to let you go and leave you in return." Kye added without giving her any glimpse of regret.
