HARPER

After enduring the excruciatingly long hour of watching Tala cry uncontrollably, we have finally reached home. I honestly never thought she'd be like this again. I know how much she loved him and he loved her too. I wish I could tell her that Kye and I are still in contact but I don't wanna expose the fact that I'm still a member of the gang without her. I don't want to make her feel betrayed.

Krystal and I have been the closest of friends since our high school days, we were best friends and it was through my introduction that they became acquainted. Despite the discomfort it brings them to be apart, it also pains me to witness their longing to reunite with each other being unfulfilled.

Krystal and Kye first met in high school and from the start, Krystal developed strong feelings for him. However, their journey towards becoming a couple was not easy due to their differences in interests. They frequently argued and disagreed, but eventually, Kye asked her to be his girlfriend.

They weren't always sweet for they often fight, had arguments but they won't let the day pass having one of them mad at each other. And the fact that both of their parents approve their relationship was already a great proof of how good their relationship were.

Following an unforeseen circumstance, chaos unravelled when Tala and I found ourselves in a predicament. We ignorantly got involved in what we thought was a harmless joke, only to discover it was more serious than we anticipated. Eventually, we were coerced into joining the mafia without our consent. While Kye was dissatisfied and wanted us to leave, we had no choice but to comply. The mafia continually pressured us to take part in espionage tasks that involved uncovering information about their objectives. Despite feeling overwhelmed by fear, we also feared the consequences of refusing to abide by their demands.

After a year of being spies together, Kye and Krystal's relationship took a negative turn. Kye's anxiety heightened whenever missions were assigned to Tala and I, fearing for our identities to be revealed, it could lead to our fatal end. Despite these concerns, Kye still praised us for accomplishing our missions. Krystal on the other hand became fearful and obedient, her once tough and brave demeanor changed.

Tala experienced intense anxiety following a solo mission she undertook before being stripped of her spy status.

Kye's behavior turned aggressive upon learning how the mafia leader had coerced us into joining their gang. His anger intensified upon witnessing the consequences of their actions, and he became distant and unapproachable. Unknown to me, Kye began plotting to eliminate the leader and his followers. Following the successful execution of his plan, Kye went on to establish his own gang.

Six months later, Kye had successfully eliminated all those who could have posed a threat to Krystal. He went as far as getting rid of anyone who was aware of Krystal's involvement with the gang. After informing me of his actions, he had me undergo training and assigned me to be Krystal's personal bodyguard to ensure her safety. Despite the presence of other spies monitoring us, Kye took it upon himself to make sure Krystal remained protected.

Despite trying to salvage their relationship for another six months, Kye came to the realization that staying together would only put Krystal in danger yet again. As a result, Kye made the difficult decision to cut all ties with her to ensure her safety. Though this decision caused him a great deal of pain, he knew it was necessary for Krystal's wellbeing. Despite my attempts to persuade him otherwise, he remained steadfast in his decision to end things.

I began to witness the pain that both Krystal and Kye were going through. While I wanted to confide in Tala and reveal the truth, I knew that it was important for me to keep quiet.

For almost five years, we have lived in a modest yet lovely two-bedroom condominium that Kye had chosen for us due to its proximity to our base of operations. He also installed hidden cameras to monitor Krystal's safety.

Although I was not typically one to comply, I truly wish we were not in this predicament, and consequently, everyone could lead a joyful life. Kye and Krystal could be married and my partner Ali, who happens to be close pals with Kye, could live a normal and happy life.

Every day, we faced new obstacles and hardships that seemed impossible to overcome, but we never lost hope. It was a constant battle between our desires and the demands of the situation. However, amidst all the chaos, we found strength in each other.

Looking back, I realize that this challenging path has made us stronger. We have learned to be resilient, to adapt to change, to find hope in darkness, and to treasure every moment of life. We have become better individuals, partners, and parents.

In the end, life is not always fair, but it is what we make of it. We can choose to curse it or to accept it and make the best of every situation. We can choose to find joy in the little things and to cherish the people we love. That's what truly matters.
