The 'Assembly' was dismissed and everyone left the hall. The group of six stepped out into the canteen and followed the crowd towards the exit. In front of them sat a small but readable sign, arrows pointed in all different directions. Below the arrows were labels to where they were pointing to. Sam tapped at the arrow labelled "Library" and walked down the corridor. Christine ran her hand along the wall as she walked. Luis quietly walked, still in shock from what just happened. Abbie walked behind sam, her eyes darting around at every tiny thing out of place. Anon and Alice walked side by side at the back, half expecting the library to be abandoned and run down. They reached the library and stepped inside. The library was quiet as not many people in the asylum could read, also due to the fact that all of the books in the library were old literature and therapeutic books. Sam walked up to the guy that sat behind the counter at the front, he looked around twenty to thirty.
"Could we have the book by Pete Saunders please?" Asked Sam politely.
The guy took a book from the draw and scanned it. There was a loud hissing noise as a silver panel sinked into the floor, Sam turned around pressing her index finger to her mouth, she then swivelled round and walked towards the panel in the floor. The panel sinked lower and slid into the wall revealing a small, short staircase. Sam walked down, the others followed her, intrigued. At the bottom of the stair case were clean sofas and chairs, all multicoloured. They circled a rectangle table in the middle which displayed large a bowl of Doritos. The group sat down smiling and filling their mouths with the snacks. Anon and Abbie didn't take any, as they knew they could contaminate the bowl. Christine noticed and poured some onto the table so they could pick them up without spreading any Flux.
A small notebook was placed in the centre of the table, Sam picked it up and wrote on it, "Use this to talk" She scribbled. Immediately Luis picked up the note book, "Anon. The left section of your hair has turned bright pink". Anon turned around and looked at his reflection in the silver wall, twitching slightly. He picked up the note book, "The Flux maybe?" He suggested, hand writing barely readable. Abbie picked up the note book, "I've been contaminated longer than you Anon, and my hair hasn't turned pink" She wrote. Anon shrugged, not even bothering to think up an excuse. The 'conversation' had passed and they moved onto a different one about pointless activities. A few hours had passed now, everyone was bored, out of paper and out of Doritos. Sam got up and pressed a blue button on the wall which opened the exit again. They walked up the staircase and filled the library.
"We should go to the sleeping area now, it's getting late" She said, obviously knowing when curfew was. "The area is divided into different things, just like the canteen"
They began walking to the sleeping area. They stopped at the sign outside the canteen to double check if they were going in the right direction or not. They continued, now adjusting their route slightly. The group finally came to two large white doors which led to a small lobby area. Their were eight to nine different door ways, all labelled with a category of 'illness'. Luis wandered down the 'Unknown corridor, whilst Christine and Sam walked down the 'Mentally ill' corridor. Abbie turned to Anon.
"Guess we're this one" She said sadly, walking down the contaminated corridor. The rooms were fairly clean, apart from a few broken tiles, furniture, ect. There were two mattresses laid out on the floor with a dirty sheet draped over each of them. The two of them slowly sat down on a mattress and both laid down, falling asleep fairly quickly.
