Chapter 4: Collision course

In unison, both Brawlers throw their Bakugan, "BRAWL!" Thrown in the air, both Bakugan meets in the middle and clash in ball form. The force repels them back, and they land on the ground, sprouting out to reveal their true forms, Omega Leonida, the dragon born in the doom dimension, [600Gs] and Beowulf, the werewolf warrior of New Vestroia. [600Gs]

Jayden is the first one to act, "Alright Wolfie, ability activates, Midnight Howler!" Using Beowulf's main ability, they inhale before howling, firing a dark fire at Leonidas. [800Gs]

"Don't count on that! Ability activate, Omega Eraser!" Leonidas counterattacks with his own signature move. Charging up his attack, he fires it back at Beowulf. [800Gs]

Both Bakugan are equal in G power, so when the attack collides, but explodes on impact. Beowulf leaps back to avoid getting caught in the impact of the explosion. "Now time for a double ability, Midnight Agility, plus Luna Mirage!" Jayden's double ability grants Beowulf both invisible, and increased speed, making him harder to catch. [1100Gs]

"Trying to play hard to get? That's fine, a small trick like that won't work on...," Leonidas is cut off when they get punched in the jaw by an unseen Beowulf. "You little...," he gets cut off again when he gets kicked in the back. "That's it!" Not wanting to get hit again, Leonidas spreads his wings and takes flight, hovering above the field. "Caleb, slow him down, would ya?"

"I'm on, Gate card open! Land Pressure!" The gate card awakens. The effect of the land takes effect right away. Leonidas watches carefully as heavy dust clouds are kicked off on the ground before stopping in one place. Beowulf's invisibility wears off, and he is seen barely able to keep himself standing. [900Gs] "Nice one. Land Pressure stops your Bakugan from moving and then substracts 200Gs from him. How do you like that?"

"Not some much, but it'll take more than that to stop me. Ability activate, Blinding Spice!" Beowulf gathers their dark energy into his hand, before slamming it down on the arena. The effect of the gate card is nullified. Beowulf is freely able to stand. He slowly recovers the strength lost from the gate card effect, although the bonus abilities have worn off.

"Oh no, you don't!" Leonidas comes charging out, leg extended to kick Beowulf. "Double ability, Fire Tornado, plus Circle of Fire!" [1010Gs] Leonidas spins their body mid-air, catching on fire as they engulf their foot. Beowulf's strength takes another hit, losing another few Gs from the ability. [800Gs] With a burning tackle, Leonidas hits Beowulf hard enough to send him flying back, reverting him to ball. [290LP]

Jayden catches Beowulf, "You may have caught me off guard with your gate card and combinational abilities, but we're still not out yet."

"I know, we're just getting started ourselves," Caleb won the first battle, but there's still a long way to go.

"Gate card, set!" "Bakugan, BRAWL! Stand, Beowulf!" Jayden takes the lead, bringing back Beowulf."

"My turn, Brawl! Omega Leonidas!" Both Bakugan is back on the field to battle again.

"Do you think you can take me as you are, Beowulf? I'm stronger than the average Bakugan," Omega Leonida takes flight, putting some distance between them.

"Don't count me out. I trained myself for years on Verstroia, so don't think you can scare me. Jayden, let's take our win back!"

Jayden pulls up his card, "On it! Ability, Mourning Cry!" Beowulf fires three black fireballs from his mouth at Leonidas. [700Gs]

Leonidas gets higher, trying to avoid the attacks, but they follow. He uses his flight advantage to dodge and weave each one, but they still persist.

"Ability activate, Fire Tornado!" Caleb uses the same ability as before. Leonidas catches fire around him, creating a barrier to protect himself while also dampening Beowulf. [700Gs] [600Gs] The tornado blocks all three fireballs.
